Annoying Power Supply Noises

Ok I just got a new case from newegg for my new computer and its the one that looks just like an alienware dragon case with a 450W power supply. The power supply is switching and when I switch it to one setting the voltages aren't stable so my motherboard makes lots of nice annoying little beeps to tell me this (keep in mind this took forever to figure out) now if I switch it then it sends stable voltages which I need so I do want to keep it on this setting but it makes this annoying high pitched noise (squelling (sp?) noise) i'm sure many are familiar with that I've seen monitors do it etc.

So I'm not sure what to do is there anyway to fix this noise? if not should I rma the power supply and do you think newegg would let me just rma the supply and not the whole case?

ok... where do you live? you should not be switching that switch, you either have a 110v line or a 235v line... switching to the wrong one can literally fry everything in your PC and the PSU as well.

I just checked and it is currently set to 115v (thats the number displayed on the back of the psu on the switch now) which I gather is correct for the us? And it is currently making this high pitched squell please advise

Don't worry about it, setting at the 235v line won't fry your components. The system just won't run at that voltage.

Oh, and if it's not the fan making that noise you should talk to Newegg about it.

If the noise is an ultra-high whine from the electronics in there, there's not really anything you can do about it. If you need a suggestion for a quiet-running replacement power supply, the Zallmans and Antec TruePowers are built to run quietly and are nice quality.

What brand of power supply is in there, anyway? Just curious.
