Seoul, South Korea-AP -- South Korea's deputy foreign minister says his country won't change its plan to send three-thousand soldiers to Iraq, despite the kidnapping of a South Korean man there.

The official (Choi Young-jin) made the announcement after government officials held an emergency meeting to discuss the abduction.

A trend would also develop if they responded to terrorists and pulled out. If the allies show a stone face and don't bow to anyone then they (terrorists) will get tired of this psychopathic behaviour after some time and try some other means.

I watched the video and I thought it was pretty horrible to hear him plead for his life. The recent guy who was beheaded and Berg--you never heard them pleading.

I hope this guy gets saved somehow or released.

I was wondering if anyone noticed his words on TV though. When he said "I DONT WANT TO DIE" he said it again. Then it sounded like "I DONT WANT TO LIVE" ? Did anyone else hear that or maybe I'm hallucinating. I think it was just his poor english but it sounded kind of ... (shouldn't say this) funny. I do hope he makes it though.

the terrorists are making a big mistake here. if they keep kidnapping people from different countries, they are going to get a backlash like they never imagined. this is good in a way, the international community needs to be shaken up and aware of the growing terrorist problems.

It's about time for the EU and the UN to step it up and get in there, or in the UN's case get back. They got bombed once and left, I see why everyone thinks they should have led the way from the start. We bailed the EU out in Bosnia because yet again they sat on their asshats and did nothing, you would have thought they would have learned from their own history. Obviously a free and prosperous Iraq is in the best interests of the entire civilized world, it's about time they did something other than start world wars they can't finish......

Best part and what a Great idea! Giving them a dose of their own bs would stop much of their 'terror'. Makes too much sense. But unfortunately we know that would never happen.

If you actually believe that these people need an excuse to commit atrocities like beheadings, you are far more stupid than I could imagine. Remember 9/11? The USS Cole? The 1993 WTC bombing? The African embassies? What about the kidnappings of Americans in Lebanon back in the '80s? Achille Lauro? The Bali bombing? Jakarta Marriott? Were those caused by Iraq? The American mind is so lacking in historical perspective that people forget that terrorism continues constantly, and it will continue unless there is dramatic change, like bringing democracy or a progressive culture change to the Middle East.
