Ok, drumpf has now said, verbatim,

http://wgntv.com/2016/08/11/trump-claims-obama-is-the-founder-of-isis/
Just waiting for my wash to finish, I'm sure this will go into spin cycle soon, and stay there a while

You would hope he would try to spin it. However he has confirmed it at least twice now after his initial utterance confirming that was his actual meaning.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...-trump-pants-fire-claim-obama-founded-isis-c/

In fact, when Hewitt proposed a more cautious interpretation of his assertion — that Obama and Clinton "created the vacuum" in the region and thus "lost the peace" to ISIS — Trump rejected that formulation, sticking with the most literal version of "founder" and "co-founder."

"No, I meant he’s the founder of ISIS," Trump told Hewitt. "I do. He was the most valuable player. I give him the most valuable player award. I give her, too, by the way, Hillary Clinton."

I'm not sure what else to say about Trump at this point. I don't think the Onion can keep up at this rate.

Someone on my friends list on Facebook posted a satirical article about Trump - it was incredibly outlandish and not true - sort of like an Onion article. Yet, everyone responding thought it was true. I can only think of one other political character like this: Palin. No one else says so many stupid things that people can't remember which stupid things were satirical comedy and which stupid things were actually said. ("I can see Russia...")

The fact Trump can even say the things he has and gotten this far to begin with is pretty outrageous to begin with.

I thought of it as a joke long ago, but the support he has garnered is ridiculous. It's obvious he's a con man on an epic scale.

And if Donald should win, what does that say about the country?
Already pretty scary he made it this far and thru the nomination process, and next the presidency?
I could easily write Trump off and ignore the buffoon, but what happened to the British and the EU makes me wonder about America voters too.
All it would take is one major terrorist attack in the world and more so over here to seal Trump's fate as the next president.

I am shocked that most of my family, sisters, in-laws, love Donald Trump and have been very vocal about it.
Then, when Trump started saying all the nonsense about the Khizr Khan family and the DNC appearance, and that 2nd amendment people comment where they should take out Hillary, my relatives just stopped talking about Trump, openly, but they still support Trump 100% and will vote for him.
They just quit talking about it. Especially to me.

And I can not understand why they hate Hillary so much and despise get guts.
During Bill Clinton, they all did pretty damn well financially and some were able to go to college, some bought their first home, and they had really nice well paying jobs during the first Clinton administration. It's like none of that matters now with this election and another Clinton.
They'd rather bet the farm on some nut job like Donald Trump.

And most of them have never been the typical establishment party members.
Most of them voted for Ross Perot and for Ralph Nader, the odd-balls.
They always think voting the odd-ball is the guy best to save the country.
And this time for them, Donald Trump is the guy they really want.
The odd-ball of all odd-balls.

I really don't know what the hell they expect?
But it makes no sense they always opt for the odd-ball and never the establishment guy. Especially when Donald Trump is more establishment than Hillary or Jeb Bush ever were.
Donald agrees and signed onto the full Paul Ryan economic agenda.
Donald agrees 100% with the entire republican platform agenda.
And Donald has said he wants a US Supreme Court full of Antonin Scalia's.
My sister despised Antonin Scalia, but when she votes Trump she will get a full court of Antonin Scalia's. Duh sis, duh...

I would think all my relatives believe they are multimillion 1% CEO's.
Where most of my relatives in their senior age now rely on social security, or social security disability, and on medicare.
They thrived during the first Clinton years, then their health went to pot.
Smoking, prescription drugs abuse, HUGE!!! weight gain, really bad job decisions, and dumb investments in nonsense where they lost a shit-load.
So..... they naturally blame everyone else, especially blaming anything they consider establishment like Hillary and Bush, and have this delusion the odd-ball outsider is the guy to save their day.

Try to tell them that Donald Trump will absolutely privatize their social security, voucher-ize their medicare, and vaporize what healthcare insurance they have.
Try to tell them THAT....
Try to tell them that Donald Trump is 100% Paul Ryan republican extremist establishment.
Just try....
It doesn't matter.
They all """love""" Donald Trump and think he is one of them. A down to earth guy with their same concerns and interest at heart. A billionaire they think relates to them. WTF ???

I got into this big argument with my sister and her adult kids, all major big-time Trump supporters, that if republicans privatize social security it will affect those now collecting social security as well. Completely destroying all social security as they know it.
Because the Paul Ryan republican claim where those already on SS or in their late 50's will not be affected by privatization is all total bull s-h-E-t.
TOTAL Bull SHeT...!!!!
There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY the system can or will support "two" systems of SS.
Both privatized AND the current government sourced.
If one goes, it all goes.
Despite the lies republicans spread around about privatization of SS, the VA, and medicare only affecting "future" generations. TOTAL BULL....

But none if that matters to my family Trump supporters.
Like Donald, they all seem to live in some delusional la la land.
I myself, on the other hand, should Donald Trump actually win, have booked two tickets to Brazil.

I keep thinking to craft a letter-to-editor for my local cornpone, right-wing newspaper. They actually print my stuff. They can't resist it especially when I eviscerate some local fascist over his mantra of "Obama is the worst . . . " I had two ideas for these letters.

The first was basically the idea that the reason America isn't great, lost some of it, or wasn't so damn great in the past derives from the very people who want to "make America great again." Trump and his supporters are just the current incarnation of what's been holding back human progress for centuries.

The second letter would start out with "Let me tell you about my e-mail server. I have deleted millions . . . and millions . . . .a nd millions of e-mails. Many were from SEARs, Home-Depot, Facebook [etc. etc.]

Trump and his supporters are crazy. They'll lie -- the most treacherous lies and exaggerations -- just to fog up the dialog. In fact, Trump accusing Hillary of being the Devil is the usual propaganda technique: accuse the opposition of being what you are, beating them to the punch.

I'm proud to say . . . . that I'm thorough ashamed of my country, for the Trumpster baggage.

Trump was an asshole ten years ago. He's an asshole today. And he'll be President Asshole if these people succeed in getting him elected.

But given the constant vomit of bullshit coming from his surrogates, oozing from his mouth, shouted by his Chicken-Little Chest-thumping fascist supporters at their rallies, I'd say that just his nomination is bad-press for selling democracy to the world.

I thought he was a disgusting person when I first saw the Apprentice. But he now seems to be 10 times or 100 times more disgusting. Infinitely more disgusting. It gives me nightmares thinking to see that disgusting mean face appearing on my TV if he somehow manages to capture the votes and the electoral college. Donald Trump is the most loathsome "Thing" I've ever seen. A loathsome, little man, capable of God knows what sort of excesses and mischief.

So to all the Assholes who stand by Trump, here's my communication. You elected the previous Asshole who cost us Trillions and 4,000 lives plus the crippled veterans, and Bush/Cheney should have gotten 99 years in the electric chair for it. Now, you're doubling down on your insanity with this Monster.

America was conceived during an Age of Enlightenment or Age of Reason. This is the Age of Derangement. And you Assholes have the same virus as the terrorists you're using in your campaign.

For the rest of us, Donald Trump isn't fit to dump my trash or polish my boots. As for Obama, if greatness were manifest in physical stature, Obama is so Great, Trump and all his Lilliputian supporters would have to stand on each other's shoulders just so Trump could kiss the President's ass.

But the contrast is so obvious. Trump isn't a gentleman; he's a bully, a liar, and a charlatan.

There was a time when a 19th century philosopher wrote about history and something called a "National Spirit" that was a collective, cultural attribute. DeTocqueville ("Democracy in America") may have described an "American Character." Lincoln spoke of the "Better Angels of our Nature."

I cannot believe we have stooped this low to have such a crude, opportunistic, narcissistic character as Trump running for president. There is no American Character in the man -- if you can call him a man. He needs to fail in order to improve his severely deficient character. I'm indifferent to whether he does improve. But I hope to call Trump and all of his racist halfwit supporters "Losers" after November. "Lo-o-o-sers! Losers! Lo-o-o-oo-sers!"d America should leave your sorry asses in the ditch. Better angels? I'd say something loathsome crawled out of Hell to propel this Asshole into the nomination. A curse on all of them.

I think you guys(US) should have a look in your back yard. Trump supporters at large is obviously not posting on this forum. Maybe not posting much anywhere at all. Maybe not even that much on the internet when it comes down to it. Maybe they dont even have internet?
You must have a huuuuge backlog in terms of getting ~half the population up to speed(and with speed i mean at least dsl) and objectively educated.
It is a sigh of relief that he is crashing now but rest assured the rest of the world has been dumbfounded by this circus.. And in the aftermath how did it get so far to begin with?
I dont think you understand how much "the rest of the globe" depends on this 300 million people-piece of land. Your allies have been shaking in their boots... the friggin world order has been at stake here .. over what? A Trump? Common !!!

Well, Trump did kinda walk his comments about Obama being the founder of ISIS this morning via a tweet....said he was being sarcastic. Unfortunately, he turned down at least two openings yesterday to say it was sarcasm, as if it was. Trump says, via his various mouthpieces, that we, the population outside NY, just don't understand NY sarcasm. LOL!

That's what he does, he says shitty things to get attention and then when he thinks he's taken it as far as it will go he says those shitty things were a joke or misconstrued.

He is pretty obviously under the impression that all press is good press, something that seems to be horribly wrong considering his current position.

I sincerely feel sorry for Trump supporters as how foolish they must feel right now but then again they deserve every once of ridicule thrown their way. I tried but could not think of another instance lately where such a large group of people got bamboozled for such a long duration of time.
This simple really shows how stupid and ignorant the average republican voter is.

Yes I feel the same way you do.

Trump supporters are beyond redemption, beyond reason. Most can't even think for themselves and are slaves to their most basic instincts of xenophobia and violence.

I still think he could win just because this is a backlash against Obama and they blame him for everything including extinction of the dinosaurs and crazy shit like that.

Gas is close to $2 a gallon not $5.
The economy is recovering despite austerity.
I can get married legally.
My dad can stay in the hospital and not be dropped by insurance because its too expensive.

But none of it matters to Trump supporters.. they have zero empathy for anyone including themselves.. they have just blind hate.

For shits and giggles I went back and looked at conservative arguments when the troop withdrawl was occurring and it was comical. Story after story about how Obama deserved none of the credit for the troop withdrawl because Bush was the one who arranged all the agreements.

Worth the laughs.

and this is exactly why they (House & Senate) won't take a war vote for Syria. They simply prefer to surrender their legislative powers to Obama, the guy who is against the Constitution. Much easier to sling shit when stuff doesn't work out.

The thing about trump supporters us they are so firmly entrenched in their reality bubble that they are incapable of feeling foolish. All the bad press he has generated is liberal media bias, not anything Donald has done. They have so insulated themselves from objective reality that they direct their anger at the messengers themselves. This is why Fox News is such a disservice to these people and the nation at large. They help them avoid uncomfortable realities for as long as possible, knowing full well that the reckoning will eventually come, which confounds the shock and trauma for them. Karl Rove refusing to accept the results in 2012 was exhibit A of this.

I think what some of you miss here is that Trump is getting support more for what he isn't than what he is. He's not another mealy-mouthed GOP tool like McCain, Dole, Romney, or etc.

And if the primary had come out with the race being between Sanders and Jeb Bush I'd be voting for Sanders for the exact same reason.

As I said on another forum, "When you want the place burned to the ground does it matter who lights the match?"

Trump is causing the dried up old fucks from the GOP Establishment to destroy themselves and he's causing no end of consternation for the Dem Establishment because he refuses to play by their rules of accusing the Republican of something and then expecting him to roll over and surrender. Trump says nasty shit and his poll numbers go up every single time.

Seriously, a great number of us on the GOP side are tired of spineless idiots who are nice to the Democrats while they say all sorts of shit about us just like some of you have done in this very topic.

We don't want a statesman as our candidate. We want a mean son of a bitch who knows how to take a Demcrat by the throat and bash his fucking teeth down his throat.

And make no mistake: Donald Trump is that mean son of a bitch and if he weren't we wouldn't support him.

So say all you want about him, the more you hate him the more I like him.

This is pretty illuminating and it basically confirms what I've always thought. Republicans don't really care about policy that much, they care about hurting their perceived enemies. Trump has repeatedly embraced policies that would be considered heretical by the Republican base in the past but they love him because he attacks Democrats and says nasty shit. They don't care if he's incompetent, unstable, ignorant, and insecure, it's those very failings that make him lash out constantly and the Republican base LOVES attacking their enemies.

What you should really ask yourself is why you hate your political enemies so much that you're willing to support an unstable incompetent just because he says mean things to them.

.

Again, you make the mistake of confusing compromise and diplomacy with "being spineless."

This is why the GOP is inept, and people like you are the puss sacks currently being purged from the fetid corpse of your GOP. Yes, you can thank Trump for that.

it's not for no reason that the vast majority (90%+) of people in this country are disgusted with and disapprove of Congress--your GOP. None of you are leaders, you certainly aren't. You wouldn't understand one if you saw one. That you classify highly competent, effective and educated individuals as "spineless tools [that will not] bash in the teeth of democrats" colors you as the kind of vile, anti-american piece of filth that is core of the problem with this country.

You have been answering the dogwhistle of the republicans for decades, and now here you are--all that your party now has to offer. No one believes your bullshit for a second that you would be supporting Bernie. It's easy to make such claims about a hypothetical that was never possible. You think that empty claim adds some sort of polish to your filthy facade. You and your kin are the reason this country is broken, and the rest of us are all the better now that you have exposed your true colors and, hopefully, the rest of the country moves on after the Golem that you have created has been put out to pasture.

Read the politifact link. Yesterday Trump reaffirmed the statement 4 times, including confirming that he really meant it to reporters who were incredulous. It wasn't until this morning that he called it "sarcasm." Also, the concept of "sarcasm" doesn't fit the context. Had he been sarcastic that would mean that he was actually mocking the idea of Obama being responsible for ISIS. Obama himself could have said that sarcastically, like "sure, I'm the co-founder of ISIS!" Trump is banking on people not understanding the concept of sarcasm, or perhaps he doesn't understand it himself. Yeah sure, "NY scarasm." LOL @ Trump's so-called "walk back."
