HOT!

Really, if something has absolutely NOTHING to do with a deal, why post it here?

god you people are mean.

Thanks for posting the scam - I suppose it can't hurt.

Thread crappers, shut up and don't bother posting if you have nothing constructive to add except for sarcasm and words like "assface."

Wouldn't one message a month be sufficient? In it post, don't give out your paypal password to emails asking you to do so. It seems like there's a paypal post everysingle day with just a slight variation in text. Basic common sense is sufficient.

Do you really think your helping out millions of idiots by posting this message? You'd be lucky to save 1-2 idiots as they are the ones that always get ripped off when buying digital cam's and computers. If they were smart they would be reading "HOT DEALS" ... And if you were SMART you would KNOW that this IS NOT a HOT DEAL.... You are wasting time posting these kinds of messages...

I have a Spam account for free items and to download crap. There must be tons of idiots out there since 1 out of ever 3 messages wants you to open up a Microsoft attachment (worm), or send some poor slob in Iraq your bank account # so he can transfer his millions of dollars. It amazes me on how many people think that there are no BAD people in this world.

IMO, if this thread helps at least one idiot or newb, it's a good thing. I don't usually see too many newbs or idiots here though ... so it's probably just wasted bandwidth. However, props to you for having good intentions.

Idiots...n00bs...it's that mentality that's turned this forum from what used to be a community based group of individuals based on posting hot deals and helping one another to a bunch of self centered, self righteous a** holes. I haven't posted here in a VERY long time because of this elitest bull****. There ARE other forums with much hotter deals and a better sense of community without all the damn thread crapping. To be honest..it makes me want to vomit or get a rolled up newspaper and slap a few of you across the nose until you get the message. DON'T LIKE IT...FINE! But save your post pumping thread crapping BS for elsewhere. Enough is enough. Mods my apologies but this kind of attitude is giving this forum a VERY bad rep in many, many other forums.

And yes feel free to cry OT or whatever other epitaph you feel you need to. I quite frankly give a sh** about your attitudes and or problems.

Wow! 7 Posts and you joined even before I did!!! Well, at least the thread got you to post! Other wise you'd only have 6 posts.

Let me say that I've seen one too many of these kinds of posts. It's it not pay pal it's ebay. If it's not Ebay it's getting a brick for a hard drive at best buy. If it's not that it's something else. I usally don't post about it but it is what it is I suppose. Sorry if my post distrubed you.

Not everyone lives on the internet. I like these posts. So I can inform my family about these new scams. If you're so damn educated about these scams just please skip over the "Another Paypal Scam" posts and don't click on them.

There are those who support an off-topic post just because it happens to interest them. But they'll likely be the first to jump ship without a second thought if the forum becomes flooded with off-topic posts that DON'T interest them.

I for one am thankful for these posts. A prevention of some poor fool getting tricked by this scam IS a hot deal. And n00bs or not, I doubt any one would wanna see their mom or pop getting fooled by something like this.

A quick note,

Paypal will always address you by your first and last name, that email says "Dear valued customer", so obviously it is not from paypal.

Keep that in mind next time.

Hah.

Paypal scam != to hot deal. This forum is for hot deals and hot deals alone, this OT.. therefore it belongs in OFF TOPIC. Once again, we see a new one of these stupid threads every other day, the scam is never any different and at the maximum you could bump the old thread with the new info to avoid clogging up the forums. If someone can explain to me how this is a hot deal, or provide a good reason why this isn't off topic, I'll shut the hell up, apoligize, and edit my thread so it is blank.

Yes, you are trying to help people, whatever... but the people should help themselves by reading what paypal themselves say when you first sign up.. that they will NEVER request information via email, and they also list a multitude of ways to go about verifying the validity of their site... So all in all, if people aren't smart enough to read what is RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM from PAYPAL THEMSELVES, then do you really think they'll pay attention to this thread?

Now, can you guys find how many times a person said "Thanks, I got this email too and I was about to put in my info!"

Right, so when you are lying in a pool of blood from a serious car accident, I'll be sure to keep driving because I'm not the police or a paramedic. Not my job, doesn't apply to me, different forum, blah, blah blah.

Sorry... Just sick of people who are mean to others that are trying to be nice and have good intentions.

"Mean people suck."

I think the simplest advice is the hardest to take. NEVER click on links to take you to any financial page. Only get there via the painstaking process of clicking on the address bar and actually (gasp) typing in www.paypal.com

On the other hand, if that's too difficult, there are shortcut keys to put in the www. and .com (personally, I type fast enough that the time saved by the shortcut is negligibly small. (actually it would take longer, since I'd have to pause and think, "now what was that shortcut again?"))

Wow...not hot at all.

And Fuzzy, I'm not bashing...it does belong in OT. Note the title...ANOTHER PP Scam. Seems like we get 1/week posted here.

If people here get the memo and actually follow through on it, they need to ask themselves why they would click the link and NOT call PP Customer Service instead?

If we're going to allow this, then we should start posting every "false" email that people get saying that they need to get the latest Microsoft patch.

Common sense and reasoning should be able to guide people here. It is not thermonuclear physics here. If you believe you received an email from a company you are doing business with, call them. If you did not initiate a transaction, do not give out your personal information, including CC #'s.
