Another "Which card for this rig?"

Here's the part of the setup I know:

Soyo - K7VME motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
512 PC2700 333MHz

I'd prefer a card with AVI and regular connections (possibly go AVI in the near future. I've got an ATI Rage Fury Pro VIVO in my system now so I don't upgrade very often so future compatibility is crucial)
Dual capabilities would be nice but not a must

I'll mainly be doing games, video editing and surfing.

So what's best for under $100?

What's best for around $150, maybe $175- $200 if it's a super sweet card for the price?

And just a note, the motherboard and processor are for sures so please don't tell me to change them

150 - 9700 pro
175-200 - 9800pro

I agree with cawchy.

If you can afford $200, then there really is no reason to pick up anything other than the 9800 pro 256-bit

Yeah I agree with cawchy to but if your not a great fan of Radeons then the 5900XT is the best to get, but if you dont mind radeons get a 9800 pro.

I also agree, adding only that, as an owner of both a pair of Radeon 9500Pros, and a FX5900XT, that the nVidia card would be my choice if, for some reason, I needed to retire the other two rigs. I just find that the nVidia hardware/drivers are much more forgiving on older games, which is VERY important to me. If this isn't the case with yourself, then I would not hesitate to endorse an ATI product.

ANYTHING would be a tremendous improvement over what you're currently using, so you needn't mortgage the house to realize a very tangible upgrade.
