I love Antec first off, a fan boy I would say.
Second, I am pretty much equally down the line on each case, both visually look appealing and both have rave reviews...

Just want 1st hand experiences and any other insightful opinions.
Also, Price: both are currently for $79.99
P180 @ Bestbuy no mail in rebate though, although, currently sold out at the stores near me and online.
900 @ CompUSA for $139.99-$35 instant rebate -$25 Mail-in Rebate total to $79.99 (after a few weeks though! blast you MIRs!)

Thanks

That's a hell of a deal on both cases no matter how you slice it . . . personally I like the look of the p180 more. Not sure if I like the prospect of my PSU being that far away from the ATX power connector on the motherboard though. In fact, that seems to be a potential problem for both cases.

Yeah, no kidding!!!

Look, I'm NOT a gamer, but if I was, I'd be looking into a "nine hundred"!

As it is, I hate gamers -- may they rot in hell! I'm just telling you the way it is...

Personally, I run a Mountain Mods U2 UFO Opti-1203, so I'm head n' heels above 99% of the ppl here.

I'm just trying to clear it up for the masses, you know? πŸ˜‰

Sorry if that sounds elitist, but NOT everybody is willing to pay for quality.

On topic, the P180 is a great case, but it doesn't breathe worth jack! For Gramps, that's okay, but for gamers, with Quad-SLI, and so forth, it isn't enough. That's WHY they (Antec) came out with the '900', and for no other reason....

i'm a gamer and i use a p180! i don't need no stinkin led lights!! they only suck up power on my already taxed system!!

go OCd c2d e6600 with sli 7900gs and 7 hard drives!!!

i have however, noticed that my second vid card is a bit too close to the 'wall' for proper cooling. i'm thinking i might have to remove the expansion slot cover and let the heat naturally flow out.

Ditto on the LED lights. However, I think you can avoid those by not using the included 120mm fans (the 200 mm fan doesn't seem to have LED lights?)

I actually like both cases, but I like the look of the p180 more . . . and I'm not really sure how well that thing actually establishes airflow vs the 900. I figure if you put strong enough exhaust fans on the back fan mount and on the blowhole you'd be okay. Couldn't you also improvise some extra front intakes by using 5 1/4" drive bay fan mounts?

LEDs are FTW. I'd personally take a case that's simpler than both of the above...

The P180 is beautiful in it's own sense, as it's basic beauty. Not like most of the cases now, which are ricer's...

Seeing how the 900 lowered my average temps by about 5 degrees C per component over my thermaltake mambo, I am regretting getting a $100 worth of after market coolers with my big typhoon and 2 vf-900s.

P180 because of the silence. You can mount a HD easily using the bottom rack. Cooling is more than efficient if you ask me.

Now, to go find a quiet PSU...

I can see how some people might have problems with its cooling configuration though . . . isn't the only intake vent for the upper chamber on the back of the case? I would think that, if you had a large enough HSF, you'd get seriously impeded airflow from the front half of the case's upper chamber unless you mounted your own front intake fan in a drive bay.

The P180 is a pretty big case, no HSF for the CPU is going to impede anything.

I'd go for the silent myself.

I picked up a P180 a few months ago and haven't looked back since. It's an extremely quiet case compared to the Lian-Li I have next to it and houses louder and more powerful parts. You won't be disappointed with it...

i was in the market for a case recently. i had the old antec/chieftec alienware full tower. i really wanted a new better case for my new rig with a window.

after reading about the p180 and checking it out - i think it looks great and if you plan smart can be a great build. ill find out on tuesday if im right πŸ™‚

i think it looks sleek. no window needed for me anymore.

Look at the title of this thread...

Does it say ANYTHING about Lian Li?

Why do you guys feel a need to beat everyone over the head with your poor choices in life? πŸ˜‰
