Antec LifeStyle SONATA

I just had a question about the Antec LifeStyle SONATA case. I wanted know if the 380W TruePower ATX 12V power supply that comes with the case would be good enough for a Chain VNF3-250, AMD Athlon 64 3200+, Ati radeon 9800pro, OCZ EB3500 (2x512) system.

If its not good enough, does anyone have a good case + power supply combination?

yes, it is plenty. believe it or not, a quality 250W psu is strong enuff to power it, but an antec 380W is excellent. antec makes some of hte best psu's u can get. always get quality over quantity. the psu in the sonata is better then a generic 660W psu.

I don't know if you have a Fry's electronics around your area but they have that case on sale for 60 bucks. 90 in store with 30 rebate i almost bought two of them.

Hey lampshade29, I dont know if youre ever gonna read this but where is the Fry's closest to you? I went to the one in Woodland Hills (Southern Cali) and its freak $110 there. Hopefully I can try the Burbank one and see how much it is there. I hope thats the one close to you!!

My HTPC is in a Sonata. Great case and the PSU is very quiet. I've only got a P4b, ATI 9600, and one hard drive in it but the 380W truepower should be sufficient for your needs.

I had a pretty loaded system in a Sonata, it'll handle that system.

Radeon 9800pro
DVD 16x
48x burner

on a 250w dell PSU with no problems whatsoever. the 380w sonata psu i got earlier this week is far better.

Hey sanity, I found the same deal at the Fry's in Palo Alto. So I pointed one of the salesguys to that case on outpost.com (Fry's subsidiary) and they matched it! $60 for this case is a steal. Now let's see how long it takes to get the rebate... Even at $90 tho, still a good deal...

If you can get one for $60, go for it. Otherwise, I'd recommend my case. After using the Sonata on a build, I noticed two major problems with it: the drive tray design blocks a ton of intake air flow and having the intake 120mm at the end of the drive bays sucks air in from the entire front of the case, so it's not filtered and brings in ALOT of dust. The case above eliminates both of those problems.
