Trump can't be re-elected without a change to the constitution, and that isn't going to happen.
If the mid terms don't give the democrats the votes to impeach him then he'll finish out his term and fade off into the sunset.
Right, yeah, the guy who has given every indication that he wants to stay in office as long as he can and orchestrated multiple attempts to prevent leaving office last time will just peacefully leave this time. Schmuck.

"NO KINGS"

Is such a fucking great headline? I mean every one EVERY ONE no matter where you are is going to resonate with that message.

No Kings.

And fuck you to death if you disagree.
I was pondering this the other day, what we'd have to do to force war mongering assholes in power into submission and it dawned on me.

Global spanning unions.

If we dont agree with the genocide in Gaza, we refuse to work.

It's that simple. That is how we take the power back.

And "No Kings" - is a banger headliner.

Mary Trump figures he won't pack up and leave. I've seen it suggested he'll manufacture a crisis to make it appear necessary for him to remain. Or just a false flag one.

Team Project 2025 probably already has playbooks for different potential scenarios written up, and will be maintaining/updating them as the time approaches. They very much want their Christo-fascist nation that Greenie is all too happy to enable (one of those "useful idiots").

Republicans in 2020: 'Trump will leave peacefully, liberals are being hysterical'.
Trump: attempts a coup.
Republicans in 2025: 'Trump will leave peacefully, liberals are being hysterical.'

Like how fucking stupid do they think we are or how fucking delusional are they.

Expecting Trump to respect the Constitution is a bit of a reach.

Isn't pretty much everything he is doing unconstitutional? Tarifs, US military in US cities...

I mean it's unconstitutional if you mean that he's breaking federal law. The tariffs thing is a bit grey though because when Congress wrote the law they said if the president declared an emergency then he could implement them. They apparently did not foresee that the president might make up an entirely fake emergency.

I think the courts in a well functioning country would not permit the executive to make up transparently fake emergencies but with our courts who knows.

Yes, I could count on 2 fingers the number of things he's done in the last 10 years that I didn't think were awful, that is if I could remember them.

In the tsunami of bullshit that's been coming from the Trump administration I've forgotten what spurious reason for the emergency that allows him to declare tariffs on the world. China and Canada were fentanyl because trade tariffs are a legitimate method of controlling illegal drugs apparently. What about the EU?

AFAIK there's no agency, no official entity that would evaluate the legitimacy of a president's declaration of an emergency situation. It's looking more and more to me like the USA federal government is a house of cards. Trump has used the cards metaphor in condemning Zelenskyy (to his face), and, of course, the name Trump suggests the lack of seriousness one might expect from the abomination inhabiting the White House (which was built by slaves, BTW). What does the USA do better than other nations? Warfare! Really, what else? OK, we gave you jazz, rock and roll. And Hollywood movies. IMO the movies are by and large junk (well, a lot of the music is too). I like a lot of independent American films, not many of the ones with footprints of the major studios all over them.

Ah, this says it better than I can, it's by Jeb Loy and the Oil Wells, the main cat is Jeb Loy Nichols who was IIRC in Texas at the time. Last I heard he was living alone in Wales in a tiny shack way out in the sticks and probably still is, there's a short documentary about that, linked below. This is a song that appeared on a compilation during the 1980s:

Documentary (less than 6 minutes) about Jeb Loy Nichols living in Wales:

And the country will be fucked for 50 years. But I’m sure you are cool with that.

Fox News coverage of the No Kings protests

🔹 Emphasis on “violence” over “protest”
  • Reporting avoided the term “protests,” instead framing these events as “riots,” “vandalism,” and “clashes.” This language echoed earlier coverage of immigration‑related demonstrations in L.A., with Fox more likely to focus on isolated disturbances than the broader movement .
  • The channel rarely highlighted the peaceful nature of most marches, instead spotlighting any incidents—even minor—to support a narrative of disorder .

🔹 Governors’ warnings & law-and-order framing
  • Fox News featured ads from several governors cautioning protesters to avoid violence: “If you break the law, you’re going to get arrested” became a recurring theme .
  • Coverage stressed security preparedness, notably the deployment of National Guard and law enforcement in states like Virginia and West Virginia .

🔹 Downplaying protest scale
  • Footage of marches—like those in Alexandria and D.C.—were shown, but framed as small, isolated, or positioned as counterpoints to the larger military parade honoring Trump and the Army’s 250th anniversary .
  • One Fox News reporter (gathering clips of protests with anti‑ICE messaging) had his skepticism echoed, minimizing the protest’s significance in comparison to the parade .

🔹 Criticism of celebrity participation
  • Jimmy Kimmel’s presence at “No Kings” rallies—with family by his side and anti-Trump messages—received prominent coverage. The tone ranged from surprised to cautious, spotlighting Hollywood involvement .

🔹 Commentary framing left as radical
  • Fox pundits and later segments (e.g. Will Cain) characterized “No Kings” as “unhinged political theater,” warning of calls to violence from the left .

Fox News is to be avoided by anybody hoping to live a meaningful life. They have sold their souls to the Devil.

Jimmy Kimmel is incensed. He's beyond trying to make people laugh at what's going on, he's righteously pissed off. I know where he's coming from. I grew up in L.A., I witnessed The Free Speech Movement inside and out. Repression and mendacity. Ronald Reagan got in on the feast.

I suppose that's what happens when you hire the TV host for a big boy job.
Trump's not good at getting what he wants. Part of it is not knowing what he wants, which is a big problem and self-reflection is something that he always avoids, he has said this. This will continue until his death.
