So, I've been working for the same company for 12 years! Been depositing my check into the same credit union bi-monthly for all 12 of those years.
U.S. Bank is the funding bank (my employer's bank) and has been so for the last 5 or 6 years.
Now, I deposited a $10K check into my account on 10/16/07
I noticed nothing was "available" 'til yesterday. (ok, no biggie).
Today there showed a "partial" amount available. (approx $3K)
I just opened my mail to find a letter that says this:
"Dear Member:
We rec'd a deposit on 10/17/2007, in the amt of $10K. For your protection and the protection of the Credit Union, a 5 business day hold has been placed on your account in the amount of $5K, for the following reason:
Reason #1 -------> CHECK OUT OF AREA
Reason #2 -------> CHECK $2,500 AND OVER
These funds will be available on 10/24/2007
An additional hold of $2,579.72 has been placed on the amount over $5K and will be released on 11/01/2007"
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot????
I guess somebody wants to lose a customer tomorrow??
