Any Funny Games Out There?

Any funny RPG games out there?

I haven't laughed much since the days of Baldur Gate and Minsc.

Not really into 1st Person Shooters.

Bard's Tale is a parody RPG, although I can't remember if it got good reviews. Fallout 1 and 2 have a fair amount of funny moments.

Psychonauts is a really funny game (action platformer, not RPG). it's made by the same guy that did Grim Fandango and other LucasArts adventure games, which are all friggin hilarious (monkey island 1 through 4, Full Throttle, Sam n Max Hit the Road)

Anachronox is supposed to be pretty funny RPG, though i didn't play it much.

Evil Genius is a HILARIOUS game, very similar to Dungeon Keeper, but with an Austin Powers flair.

Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga for GBA is pretty funny

The Nippon-Ichi games published by Atlus for PS2 are great as well. they're all turn-based tactical RPG's: La Pucelle Tactics, Disgaea, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom

Ya try out psychonauts. Hilarious and great gameplay. It's on all consoles and PC so give it a try. In fact, I'm thinking of selling my PC version as I don't play it anymore.

yeah, i want to sell mine as well. not much in terms of replay value, which sucks.

Excellent game, I recommend it every chance I get. Just make sure it's fully patched before you begin. Plays more like a console RPG than Baldur's Gate, though.

If you're not against going to older games, there were some golden moments in Fallout and Fallout 2.

Really? I always seem to find myself playing Grim Fandango through again every year or so.....god I love that game (is Psychonauts not quite as good?). So that guy isn't with Lucasarts anymore? That explains why they haven't put anything good like that out in a long time. That's too bad, I think lucasarts usually puts out quality caliber games (or atleast they used to back in the days of FT, GF, etc...) I'll need to check out Psychonauts then.

mentioned already: ananchronox (sci-fi humor); ugly but funny. psychonauts is a plus also.

freedom force and freedom force vs the third reich are comic book humorous. kind of a real time strategy mixed in with rpg.

oh man Freedom Force is another awesome game.

it totally pokes fun at the melodrama of comic books, i loved it.

Gooberlx2, it's not that psychonauts isn't as good... it's just not as rewarding as grim fandango and full throttle. I didn't get the same feeling of accomplishment and pleasure from psychonauts as i did from GF.

Lucasarts tried to bring back the genre with sequels to sam n max and full throttle, but both projects got canned... which is a shame.

I have to recommend Psychonauts even though it's already been said a bunch of times. It isn't an RPG, it is a platformer / action game but is very cool and I recall laughing quite a few times. Also, Planescape is very minsc/boo-ish. It uses a very similar style of gameplay and graphics engine as Baldur's Gate but has some extremely cool characters like Modron the chaos robot and a flaming skull. The game can be very funny but also very sad, it sort of jumps back and forth. It's deffinitely worth playing though.
