Any Mormon/LDS here?

im an active mormon and will be serving my mission soon. i do have to say that this thread will spread nothing more than false roomers. if you want to find out more information there is no better way than to invite a missionary over, go the the web site, go to a temple (they have visitor centers there). if you are looking for quick answers i suppose you can ask a bunch of people that either had a bad experience with an exmember, or heard misleading information. i myself do not choose to answer these questions because i dont know the best means to communicate and to describe them effectively. ask the missionaries.. thats their job to help you understand better. and btw, i think i would have reacted the same way that Trippleshot would have if a group of people started bashing something that means more to me than anything else have and will ever mean in my life.

Well I know they beleive that Jesus came to the Americas befoe it was industrialized.

But that sort of contradicts all the Native American history as we know it.

None of the Native American history tells of a Jesus like prophet.

HERES THE REAL SCOOP(unbiased until the final comment, except the parenthesis with funnies )
I have been forced to be mormon since birth and now im 18, and once I can make it on my own, im outta this BS.

1. They believe that they can become gods, yes, if they do the best things, and can rule over their own planet, and yes their would be creatures, kinda like you and me

2. If a mormon dates a non mormon, nothing bad really happens.. they just try to convert them usually. If a mormon marries a non mormon they cannot marry in their temple (big church that the person wants to take a covert op into), and since you must be married in a temple to become the highest level of a person after you die, you therefore cannot.(they can make it to the 'celestial' kingdom, but their are levels within).

3. Around the age of 18 er older, mormons have their 'endowments' done which is kinda like bonding yourself to your family so that you can be together after death (families can be together forever mumbo jumbo that they spiel about all the time).
After this point they where these "sacred" garments, (undies), and dont really know why they do (maybe so their balls dont hang too much...)


4. heh, you got this one a bit mixed up. When Kain killed able, (the first murder), god put a 'mark' on him, and this mark is supposed to be the black people. IMHO I have found the average mormon to be more racist then the average Joe, dont flame me, but I just get hintings from almost all of them, and i just want to be the living sh!t out of them.



You would be surprised all of the anger someone can gain from having to go to church for 3 hours every sunday, and from having to go to seminary all during high school. My parents dont understand 'how' I can not believe and I just wanna break them because of it...

Good luck to you. I hope your parents are understanding. My parents cut my college funding and forced me to do everything until I was 18, then I just said "fvck it" and let them do what they want. I'm nearly 20. You'll find alot of the teachings are embedded in you and that you won't be able to get them out of you. Its an easy transition however. Theres nothing hard about leaving.

SinNisTer- I hope you've prepared well, you are in for some of the oddest 2 years of your life up ahead. My decision not to serve caused my parents much grief and they didn't talk to me for days.

By the way, when researching the Mormon teachings, I would tend to favor the independant websites and use them to explain the Mormon sponsored websites.

Think of it this way, when you are researching the best Home Theater equipment, will you rely soley on Pioneer's information or would you supplement it
with independant research and commentary?

By the way, that annalogy is not meant in anyway to demean the Mormon/LDS faith. I just though it was a good example.

I am aware that the second I step out of this house they will cut my college tuition. So, once they help me get my car completely fixed (its got 2 issues) I will jump ship.

My USED to be friend awhile ago met some Valley girl who was a MORmON and married the daZm thing, But she would do things like tell me MORmON don't judge people then 5 minutes later tell me I was wrong for not beliving in her god.... Wasn't that judging me?

The wedding thing was what made my mind up that my used to be friend Kenny was no longer my friend and a total last straw, Wasn't invited cause "I wasn't of their faith"... screw that, that's judging me, something they (Mormons) "Don't do" yeah right. where is my Horseshoe?


if the wedding was at the temple than the answer has already been pointed out.. people that arent mormon arent allowed in the temple.
