Any opinion of lenevo laptops?

In particular the Thinkpad L series? They recently refreshed to haswell and they look pretty good. I need one to run a couple of virtual machines (at the same time) so I need at least 8 gigs of ram.

Has anyone used this line at work/home? What are your opinions on their build quality and after sales support?

They should pull "Devices" out of this forum's name, take out "Notebooks" from that one, and make this Mobile Devices & Notebooks or simply "Mobile Computing". Convergence is making the distinction disappear, or will eventually, much like how PDAs went away when they merged with phones.

There's already a huge amount of overlap between the convertible devices. Not really sure if they entirely belong here or in SFF, Notebooks, Pre-Built/Barebones PCs

no idea of the L series but I've owned or used every version of the t and w for the last 5 years. They are pretty much the best imo, I still use my w520, t61p and have my t420 ready for when I need to travel. They all run 3+ vm, the w520 hs 32gb and has run 10+ test vm at the same time.

Bought the wife an E531 and it's not bad. Very plasticy in a not so good way but has been reliable. Not crazy about the trackpad either. It's decent notebook but for the price paid likely could have done better.

I'm running an X220 which has been fantastic over the last two years.

Currently considering a T440s for the larger display, but it's still not available, despite having been announced in July!

ThinkPad users would usually use nothing else.
