It looks like the "wolf" spiders that we have here in Florida. Was told they were known as wolf spiders, but think it was a misnomer since seen photos of wolf spiders on the net and did not look like them.
Here is a brief decription of them:
Counting leg legth they are slighty smaller than an adult male's hand. The carry their egg sacks under neath their belly until they ready to attach it to a wall (or celing). The egg sacks look like a very white oyster cracker and, when attached to a surface, it is done on its rim. They do not carry their offspring with them nor do they stay to protect their eggsack. The carry the sack for a bit...find a spot...place it and move on.
Coloring is solid dark brown, no varying pattern of color.
They tend to live near forested areas and/or near water locations and mainly feed on palmeto bugs (i.e. cockroaches). They can squash up in cracks and coners really well when they want to hide......but when they want to move they can haul arse or a good meter or two in less than a second.
They can get large enough to actually hear them walking over an open magazine or newspaper (sound made from a magazine I had on floor helped me find one I was hunting in my room).
