man, the more I read about the V10, the more I itch for it. I haven't been so excited about a phone for a while. As a Verizon user learning about Nexus compatibility and V10, I am having too much tech orga$m today.

I will say that running benchmarks on this thing is sketchy at best. I have to shut off cell and wifi network before any of them will run. And the results are less than spectacular. Scores are very low IMO. Phone does NOT feel slow in the least. I am hoping its the app and the signature and not a flaky phone CPU.

Any way to check and see if it's overheating and being throttled?

I got the phone 3 days ago, and I must say, I am a tad less than impressed. Mind you, I have owned the Note 5, S6 Edge Plus, and the iPhone 6s Plus.

The power button on the back always feels a tad loose, but after checking a display model, and doing some online reading, I found out it is supposed to be that way. Be that as it may, I strongly dislike the little bit of wobble it has.

The screen is quite decent. Not as decent as the super Amoled screens I have had in the Samsung varieties, but damn close. No complaints here.

As far as the back cover, perhaps I fooled myself into believing that it was going to be something that it is not. It feels superbly flimsy to me. I expected a thicker, more rubberized type of feel to it based on the pictures and descriptions, but it is very thin. Once again, perhaps this could be my error, but I do not like it.

The photos and videos are very nice, no complaints there. The extra screen at the top is not at useful to me as I thought it would be, more often than not, I find myself not using it. As well, when the phone is laying on my desk I can see the backlight glow/bleed coming from the left side of the little screen which alters the very leftmost icon slightly. Once again, possibly not a deal breaker for most, but it bugs me a bit.

As far as the fingerprint scanner goes, I had a hell of a time getting my print registered. I made sure to lay my finger properly, and I'll be damned if it only registered a third of a time. I brought it back and they gave me a new one, as the store employee also verified that it was indeed an issue. Even on the new phone, same deal. Half the time, with my fingerprint properly on the button, it will not open. Deal breaker for me, considering the button is a hair wobbly to begin with.

Sound quality is not horrible to me, I never expect too much from a cellular phone in terms of audio.

A decent phone I would suppose, but I will be returning it this weekend. I already registered for the free items from LG, so I am not sure how I would handle that exactly. Perhaps the website will allow me to cancel the order.

I checked that yesterday. They knock down the credit to $200 if the screen is broken or doesn't work. They ask 3 questions, can you turn the phone's power on and off, is the screen cracked or not working, and does the phone get hot or overheat. That's going off my shaky memory.

What device were you trading in? I checked it just now and it offered me $300 for my cracked (but working) T-Mobile GS2 T-989

T-mobile has a $100 of flagship phones on cyber monday so $499 + all goodies is very very tempting. I will head out to T-mobile tomorrow and check it out.

You have to buy by Nov 15th to get the memory card and extra battery I believe... So you can't wait that long

I wonder if AT will do a review of this gadget. I highly doubt it.

Played around with this at the AT&T store. Couple quick impressions:

- the back is surprisingly good. Not "premium" in the traditional sense but it felt substantial and grippy and far superior to the stock G4 back. However the phone has a lot going in its external design - different materials, textures - it's doesn't seem very cohesive.
- main screen is great. The secondary display is awfully far away though, making it a bit useless without a fully dedicated second hand. If anything, something like that at the bottom of the screen might be more useful - though not sure how usable that would be either without trying it.
- camera focused very quickly in store

Overall it seems like a more unique and compelling phone than the G4 - certainly stands out from the masses of Android phones.

Went to the Bronx Zoo yesterday and took around 400 pics of the autumn tree and shrubbery. The manual settings on this are truly great. And still had 50% battery at the end of the day. So far I am really impressed with this phone. One pic that really amazed me was in just glee world. It's a pic of a plant in an area that was near pitch black. Photo came out pretty damn clear and vibrant without flash use.

LOL, well cyber monday was yesterday so the $100 was only for yesterday so it would fall before Nov 15th.
Anyhow, I know its a 5"7 screen with the small extra display but it just seems a lot bigger than the Note 5 and Moto X pure. It just feel BIG. We passed on it.

I've had mine now for a few days, color me very impressed. I moved up from a G3 which was my favorite phone, until now.

So, I finally got my hands on my V10.

This thing is nice. The "too big" and "too many customizations" complaints are ridiculous. You shouldn't be getting this phone if you can't handle or don't want a "note" sized device. And if you hate customization, I've got an iPhone to sell you.

Has anybody gamed on this? I lnow the 808 SoC isn't a beast, but mine gets HOT. I was showing off minecraft for like a minute and a half and my phone got uncomfortably hot. It lagged like hell on the web browsing too until it cooled down.

Is this typical fellows? My S4 never got that hot...and only ever approached that warmth after sustained (like a half hour) use.

I may have to return this...

It is not-so-unexpected behavior from S808/S810 devices. Unless aggressively managed, they heat up like crazy and start stuttering. Unfortunately the OEMs do not have luxury of Google who do not need to worry about performance/benchmarks, so they try to maintain some level of performance, which leads to overheating. Heck even the 5X occasionally heats up and stutters.

Totally had forgotten about this. That deal makes it very interesting. If I'd stay with Android I'd probably pick this. I'm kinda set on the Lumia 950/XL, but they won't be out until after that promotion ends. I'd almost think about buying the V10 and then wait and see how the Lumia's turn out and then keep or return the V10.

Can buy for $599 at T-Mobile (but can't get T-Mobile service in my immediate area, but it'd work on ATT/Cricket wouldn't it?).
