I've been reading a lot about PSUs on this forum...a lot of folks are advising against using a dual-rail PSU for SLI. From what I've been reading, having 25a per rail is preferred, but on dual-rail PSUs it only amount to about 18a per rail.

I'm saving the cash for my own SLI system as well, I'll be using the OCZ PowerStream 520W. It has the 24-pin connector, and 33a on the 12V rail.

I'll try to dig up the thread I was reading about power issues with SLI....which board are you going to get? A8N-SLI Deluxe?

Accept no substitute, PC Power Cooling 510 SLI.

This is where they're recommending single-rail PSUs for the A8N-SLI (I assume the same is true for other SLI boards).

The PC Power Cooling 510 SLI would probably be the ultimate, yeah...but wow, quite a price tag on that one. From what I've read, I think the OCZ PowerStream will be more than sufficient.

I am not going to get the Asus. As far as I know the dual rail problem has been isolated to Asus. I have not seen anything about other boards, but it may be early yet. I believe there is a recall on an ocz model.

You can't beat their service though, I called them up and they are more than happy to answer any of your questions. They are based in Carlsbad, CA, very close to where I live. They even wanted to get some of my opinions on upcoming models as well as what I think others would want in a PSU. They are definetely a customer oriented company and I will continue to come back to them for all my PSU needs (of course that may be a while since they have a five year warranty on this bad boy).

Tell you what...if you can point me to one with a $140 price tag, I'll bite.

I'm gonna be dropping moocho-booko on a 6800GT PCI-E so I gotta be as thrifty as possible. I don't think spending $140 on a PSU is going the cheap route, though...maybe not top of the line, but pretty close.

Did not look up the stores rating. I think the units are fairly new.
