Anyone else here like Yuengling?

Just curious.

I kind of switch between favorites every so often, but this is one I've really enjoyed the past six months or so. I've probably had 10 bottles of beer in the past six months, 9 yuengling.

TsingTao is my favorite. Of all the things that are Chinese, this is probably actually one of the best.

Beats my usual favorites of Hoegaarden and Sam Adams when it's available.

Yeah it is a good beer for the price. Although it was a bit pricier in Ohio compared to Georgia and Florida.

RE: Heineken vs. Sam Adams, they are completely different styles of beer, so it comes down to personal preference, I prefer Sam Adams myself. If you were going to compare Heineken to Rolling Rock, or Grolsch, then it would be more comparable. Although the SA Boston Lager is excellent, even for the steep price, their seasonal beers really set them apart in the macrobrew world, IMO. I guess they are actually kind of affordable considering I once payed ~$15 for a single 12oz. bottle of Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA.

I don't like the Chinese beers, they all taste like wannabe American pilsners. I know there is a Hong Kong brewery but I have neve tried it. Maybe the British colonialists imparted some body onto that one.

But for mass-produced, I like Hoegaarden. A bit of the lemony taste but not too bad. When I was in Ottawa I had plenty of Keith's Red every night at the pub's. I thought that was a pretty decent ale though I do not know how widespread its distribution is. I generally try to search out a good German or Belgium beer these days. I finally found a place that carried Franziskaner not too long ago. Mmmmmmm....

Never came cross a Yuengling though.

I never knew yuengling wasn't a national beer, strange. Anyway, it is a nice change of pace from bud and coors, and just as cheap here. I think bottle king has 24 bottles of coors light or yuengling for about $16 or $17 which is nice. I don't really drink it very often at all though. If I'm going cheap and for volume, I go with bud light, otherwise i'm going above yuengling

I just tried Yuengling for the first time a few weeks ago. My dad brought it back from his trip to the East coast. I thought it was pretty tasty. Too bad they don't sell it around here because I would probably drink it regularly if it was available.

Glad that I live in the east coast. I drink it at all bars/restaurants that carries it.

TsingTao is great, as is Stella Artois and anything from Sam Adams. I need to try to find some Hoegaarden around here, as this isn't the first time I've seen it get favorable mentions. If it's got a lemony taste that's a plus for me, as I find wheat beers made with orange or lemon peel pretty damn tasty.

I like Yuengling for a cheap beer, but if I'm going to be drinking several of something my preference is something that doesn't seem as filling (Miller Lite, Rolling Rock Green Light, or even Mich Ultra). Yuck @ drinking Bud Light...it's hard to take that stuff anymore. I'll drink it in a social setting if the only option available but I haven't bought any at the store in years. The new Golden Wheat isn't bad, though.

Agree that Yuengling is the best mass market beer out there. By the way, how far has it traveled? About 5 or 6 years ago, you still couldn't get it in Chicago, my aunt and uncle would take a case back with them whenever you visited. And you couldn't get it in the deep south, IIRC. But I haven't traveled west in a while.

You can get it in most places in AL as that is my lager of choice. Granted, I've only tried in the Mobile, Birmingham, and Tuscaloosa areas so I'm not sure about the eastern half of the state.

oh, and sam adams is way better than fucking heineken. I mean, they both have their place, but its no contest ignoring the fact that they are completely different

There, might be, but I don't think so. Sam Adams sells on the premise that you want a great tasting beer out of the bottle. They sell it by the keg, so there is always that if you prefer the draft. They do not need some gimmicky container to sell their great tasting beer.

Heineken is not terrible by any means, but to compare their "neat" packaging to something that Coors Light is doing, well, they don't deserve much praise...

I like it, I'd rather a nice Shocktop or other Belgian White, but it definitely works.

Yuengling was my beer of choice in college.

I went to school in PA, so it was pretty inescapable.

Definitely a solid choice. Too bad I can't get it in Chicago when I want to grab a cheap 6-pack. Wouldn't get it for just stock in my fridge, but its good if I want to bring some beer to someone's place.
