anyone else seen this problem?

I just built a new system and everything is running great except for one thing. Whenever I try and play first person shooters (Battlefield: Vietnam, UT 2004) I get an odd video effect which causes the image to warp this happens both when I'm moving and standing still. My FPS never goes below 35ish and is usually around 50 and up. The problem doesn't occur in single player, which makes me think maybe it is something wrong with my network adapter? I have installed all the latest drivers for all devices. Any thoughts or ideas on what this might be?

Athlon 64 3200 (socket 939)
MSI K8N Neo 4 platinum
PNY Geforce 6600 GT
1gb Corsair Value Select RAM
74 gb WD Raptor HD
Mad Dog 500W 24 pin power supply

Warping? Is it like really bad lag? Hmm...do you, like, try to move foward, but it's as if you're attached to a giant rubberband and you keep going backwards (lol, just trying to understand) If that's the case, then I've experienced it while playing Joint Operations, but I think it's a server issue (and that's also the general consensus at Novaworld.com.) What is your ping in the servers you play on? Have you tried the forums specifically related to UT and BF:V? Maybe they can offer some explanations/advice. I haven't played either game, so I'm not much help

Yeah warping is a very odd term.

I have the same board, and I tend to use the Nvidia controller rather than the Marvell. Though the marvell is faster it seems less stable when on the internet. However I have never seen any warping on my screen, but you have a 6600GT, have you tried a different driver?

Does that board have 2 ethernet ports or something? And if so, why?

In UT2004, press F6 (Stat net) and check the Packet Loss reading.
If it's >10, then you have issues with packet loss which could be due to either the server, or from your end (your connection/ISP etc).
Normally "warping" is packetloss, if it's the kind of warping I'm thinking of (ie: you move, then you "appear" back where you started) - Often UT2004 will give you the "Speedhack" message.

when I say warping, I mean like what happens in a game whne your getting lagged. I really don't think its the video card, RAM, or CPU because I can run any map in either of those games with plenty of bots and I don't experience the same problem. My ping is <100 and this effect still occurs. I'm thinking maybe lost packets? I'm currently loading BF:V on my laptop right now to see if I can play it without it happening.
