Anyone ever try a local disposable diaper manufacturer?

We have a company locally that sells 60 diapers for $9.99 and 180 for $24.99 in any size. Made in the USA as well.

I am going for a sample soon, but my baby isn't due until 2/24. They look just like a typical Pampers/Huggies/White Cloud/etc.

Has anyone used a company like this?

We tried the cheap diaper route with both our sons when they were little(now 12 and 7). It didn't go very well. They leaked really bad where the buttocks meets the thigh and they didn't seem to have the absorbing power that the name brands do.
We only tried a couple brands though so maybe we missed the decent generic. Try them and see is all I can say. Diapers are expensive so if you find a good generic you can save some money.

I am not saying generic though, this is a home-grown local business.

My fiancee tried generic diapers and would never again. We heard some good things about this company and are going to get a sample probably tomorrow and compare it to some of the main brands visually.

Unfortunately I don't have a baby for two months so I can't do testing. I am trying to build stock up when things are on sale and/or coupons given.

Just with simple coupons and deals I have a good supply of baby wipes (this company also has their own brand of wipes).

No. As for "generics", about the only kind worth trying is Kirkland brand from Costco if you're a customer. We've actually had better luck with them than Huggies or Pampers with our two boys, though I can't remember which of the name brands actually caused a rash.

Do you both work?

I got cheap diapers from Sav-A-Lot I think. They were excellent, and I preferred them to some big brands. That was a long time ago though, and they may not be the same.

I wouldn't stock up on diapers too much. Kids can grow out of them fast, and it's hard to predict what sizes you'll need. A small supply probably won't hurt if you have some awesome coupons, but I wouldn't get a ton.

I've never seen a mom and pop diaper company. They make them in their garage or something?

For store bought, Target brand diapers are pretty good.
We also used bum genius washable diapers till the kids were big enough the diapers couldn't handle the volume of mess. Lasted till the kids were ~2.

I asked about work because cloth diapers do pretty much suck, but you can make them a lot better, and if a parent is home all day, it could be worth it -- disposables get expensive.

Get your basic cloth diapers, and screw pins, or clips, or what not. No, you go with VELCRO. [edit: you sew velcro onto the regular diapers, I should clarify] My mom did that waaaaaaaaaaay back when and it's still a really good idea. Then some new liners, get a hose attachment for the toilet, get the potty pail, and a couple small buckets for #1 and #2 diapers to stew in (different brew in each). But yeah, it sucks. We've basically stuck with disposables the whole way.

Must have been the 6 pack she drank.

Only name brands for us, preferably Huggies. Costco brand is good too, but cost about the same. All other diapers just have poor quality control. It may work just as well until you get one that leaks diarrhea all over the pants onto the bedding onto the mattress, and you'll question whether the savings is worth it.

In my experience, not all diapers fit the same. All babies are different...

Between size of the baby and diaper, the fit always changes and leaks/blowouts are going to happen eventually.

I prefer Pampers brand to the others and they feel like they're made better. They're just expensive compared to the competition. For my kids, the baby dry and night times fit way better than the cruisers....swaddlers are thick, so they just seem like they would be hot.

So....swaddlers for newborns, baby dry for size 1-6, I think they stopped making the night time diapers....but Pampers Easy Ups are a good training diaper. Target usually gives you a $10 for buying 2 boxes. I think I spent $55 last night on two boxes of the easy ups. I can't wait to get potty training over with.

we had triplets and we ordered in bulk trough diapers.com usually

When the kids were born we used the huggies because huggies gave us 1000 free when I sent them a letter saying I was having triplets. Diapers.com and amazon will net you the best prices outside of occasional local sales.

Kirklands were ok but didnt aborb as much as the huggies or pamers.

get the huggies nighttimes they are alot more expensive but you only use one a a day. Totally worth it.
