anyone know of some good headphones??

I'm looking to get some good headphones to go with my iPod for around $50 or so. I like the over-the-head style, and durability is important.

I still prefer earbuds so I can listen if I hate lectures..

Sony's Fontopias. The 71 model isnt that great with tthe extension which is heavy and causes the right side to be pulled on (because it goes around the back of neck). Thus I prefer the 51 model as it is cheaper and has the exact same drivers as the 71. Awesome sound and walking down the street is awesome with those. The world shuts up.

But if you really want over the head, I recommend Sennheisers.... No compromise.

same i have the fontopias 51 i think - pretty nice sound and blocks out ambient sound well.. if u want matching ones, the 71s come in a white version.

Shure e2c's. I own a pair and they're awesome. Don't get headphones for a portable mp3 player.

Had the 51s lost enough of the ear cushions then bought a pair of 71s. I don't like how the extension is heavy it pulls on the headphones. You can't walk around with the headphones around your neck. They will fall off in like 5 min because of the weight... in the end.. same sound quality.

Sennheiser HD497, Sennheiser PX100, or Koss PortaPro. All are basically different but equal for sound quality. The PortaPro is fun and the bassiest, the HD497 is neutral and the most accurate, the PX100 is somewhere in between and the most portable.
