you can't just say "don't buy from ebay" that is not very wise. The customer should really research the seller before he buys something like this. Things to do before buying from ebay:
1) Make sure he is a power seller or something higher. Thos are usually dealers that make living out of this.
2) Make sure that seller sold computer stuff before.
3) Check his feedback. Make sure that the good feedback are coming from people who bought computer parts.
4) Email/Call the seller. Ask just about anything, even if you don't really have any questions.
5) Make sure that you receive a pleasent professional reply. Check the shipment methods, the more there is offered the better the seller is.
*Don't expect the seller to reply to you after you buy from him if he doesn't reply to your question.
6) Ebay would protect from a fraud. Check their website.
7) Ebay can help you return the product if the shipment was not as described. YOU REALLY SHOULDN'T BE AT THIS POINT.
