You could build the frame with them, but would have to be lined with fire brick.i think you need special fire brick for that. regular brick might release toxic badness under heat.

Do you think that a tarp would be okay to protect the hood of my car or would I need a piece of plywood to keep the cinder blocks from scratching it? Do these blocks have sharp edges? The pics aren't very clear. I wonder if the seller could send me some better pics.I read somewhere you have to pick them up and move them yourself.
