Got a call from a guy asking about out sat phones. Turns out he used to manage cell phone account for another agency. Thay can add it to indivuidal phones.

Question about International dialing to Inmarsat.
+- 5000 phones on account. About 100 of them may need International dialing.
Can it be added to indivuidal phones or does it take an account uprade to an International plan?
Can it be added to indivuidal phones with no International plan and just charged by the minute?

You have ~5000 lines on your account and you're using AT for support? Why not just call Verizon?

I am not the account manager. I have to go through another employee who will take two days to get me the info.

I only have about 900 lines now, but I'm able to add international calling and data bundles to individual lines without upgrading the whole account.

It's my understanding that the way the international dialing works is that you just add it and then they're charged by the minute regardless. The dialing feature costs nothing for me to add.

Here's what I get as a line summary in VEC:

And here's the data options in VEC:


So you should just have someone that has a login to VEC log in, tick the 'international dialing' option and make sure you put their email address in and they should get an international dialing instruction email.

Most mobile lines are blocked from making international calls and you need to enable this. You should add the $3.99 international value plan; voice rates will be much cheaper.

If a user is traveling out of the country and will be using his mobile phone, you should call Verizon and tell them exactly where he is traveling so that Verizon can put him on a Global Data Plan ($25 for every 100MB). If he isn't on a Global Data Plan than it could cost up to hundreds of dollars for roaming data. Example: $20.48/1MB. The Global Data Plan does not work for every country and that is why you should always call Verizon to tell them where the user is traveling instead of doing this online; roaming data as you can tell is very expensive.

Voice is charged by the minute and depends on where the user is traveling. You can call Verizon and have them email you the rates.
