I'm going to be purchasing a laptop in mid-to-late may for college and I'm wondering if there is anything big that will change in the next two months. i.e. Seagates new 7200 rpm Momentus, faster processors, better GPU's.
Big things coming up:
(1) 100GB 7200RPM Seagate drives, April-ish
(2) AMD Turion mobile processor: 64-bit support, low TDP, supposedly good performance
(3) PCI-E graphics cards become more common, hopefully eliminating a lot of the Intel integrated crap
I would wait to see what Turion is going to offer. And either go with the baseline hard drive & switch to the 100GB 7200RPM Seagate, or by then you will probably be able to configure your own 7200RPM 100GB.
