The thing is, AOC isn't really wealthy. She's only had a congressional salary for 3 years. She had student loan debt to pay off when she entered. She like most members of congress likely maintains a house in her district and a place to stay in DC (NY and DC are both expensive places to live). We know she helps out family financially, it's the whole reason she worked at a bar that conservatives love to attack her about. Sure she has the salary of a member of Congress, but by all indications she's one of the few not abusing her position to become obscenely wealthy.
