Let' pretend for a moment that Democrats are the advocates of the working class, why are they not pushing ways to increase the pay directly to the working class? Who really thinks that having the government directly pay non-employees is a good thing? There is nothing preventing the benevolent rich people to pay more in taxes than they are legally required to pay. The rich are not going to get punished by tax increases. It is going to get passed along to the working class as inflation and lowered buying power. Rich people are still going to be rich and Democrats now get to have more control over people's lives.

Yea, if it's one thing we know Republicans hate, it's control over other's lives /eyeroll

The guy is overly optimistic about his self-worth, aided and abetted by his delusions of grandeur that was so appealing it affected over 70 million suckers (his own words) who were enthralled by his pugnacious abhorrent use of lies in order to denigrate and dehumanize his (their) perceived enemies. He put into colorful jingly spiteful words what his followers wanted to express to the nation their whole wretched lives.

edit - That was his entire repertoire, the resume' he wrote with his felt pen and slid into his job application that got him elected.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was hit Thursday with another ethics complaint over her attendance at Monday night’s Met Gala, with a second conservative watchdog group claiming she violated House rules on accepting gifts.

The complaint from the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) to the Office of Congressional Ethics alleged that Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) improperly accepted tickets from a table sponsor for herself and her boyfriend.

House rules allow members to take free tickets to charity events directly from event organizers, and The Post reported Tuesday that AOC and boyfriend Riley Roberts were directly invited by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

However, the NLPC argued that “it is the table sponsor who is gifting or underwriting a coveted seat to AOC at the Gala.

“And if … the table where AOC sat was one paid for by one of [the] corporations attending the event, such as Instagram or Facebook, AOC has received a prohibited gift from the corporation that also lobbies Congress.”"

I'm looking at about $80,000 in gifts/contributions/bribes to her and her boyfriend for the gratuities they accepted......... cool.

That's a big 'if' that your decrepit GQP compatriots are trying to imply. This is just another grasping at straw move by the same group that says the election was stolen, and who are just pissed AOC is smarter and gets better press than the yahoo Q loving morons that perfectly represent your bottom of the barrel movement like MTG and Boebert.

You'd have a better chance of hitting a pot of gold throwing a grenade down a tunnel full of asylum seeking children than having this trumped up charge stick.

Was actually having a conversation with the wife about this as she brought up the "controversy" around AOC attending and what a "let them eat cake" kind of moment it was.

Something seemed off, I don't always agree with AOC but she has managed to be one of the more genuine junior Congress Critters out there.

Did a bit of reading and lo and behold, she did not pay some exhorbitent sum to attend, NY pols get in free. Her dress was borrowed, not purchased.

Most confusing of all, she was being congenial and polite to all the people she supposedly wants to tax at the event almost like the message is not hate the rich or drag everyone down into Soviet style poverty, but find a better balance between keeping the sweat of your brow and basically social darwinism.

"New York pols get in free" The rest of you fucking losers have to pay $35,000 a ticket. Seems reasonable, nothing to see here, please move along.
Politicians do get invited to local charity events. What's your point? Are you just mad they weren't ripping off a cancer charity or something like the guy you and your your ilk venerates?

Really nothing to see here. Just because they Met is intensely lobbying for their piece of the pie, doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to bribe politicians.

"The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced today #CongressSaveCulture, a campaign to support broader efforts advocating for financial relief for non-profit arts organizations to be included in the nearly $2 trillion stimulus package currently being debated in Congress. Specifically, The Met is calling on the federal government to include at least $4 billion in government support for financially at-risk non-profit arts organizations and the implementation of a universal charitable......."

An art based museum calling for saving the arts. The horror.

Wait to you see what right wing loon churches and their insane pastors are doing. I appreciate you have a gigantic hard on for AOC because you couldn't get a woman a hundredth of her in your bed, but it's just sad.

Don't really know what I think of it.

One thing that strikes me is how extremely moderate a slogan it was compared to the norm for punk-rock-shock sloganising when someone wants to attend an event but wants to make a point that they aren't selling out.

I mean "tax the rich" is not exactly "exterminate the bourgeoisie as a class" (AOC would have to put on a lot of weight for that one, though...maybe that's why she decided against it?). It's something Harold Wilson would have agreed with. Or maybe even Eisenhower.

It's not even up to Katharine Hamnett's effort in the 80's

The problem is that their guy didn't do it. If that was the case then conservatives would be enjoying those liberal tears.

The next problem is that conservatives lie so often that you can't believe anything they say until a 3rd party has actually verified it.

Funny how this conservative watch dog troupe is very concerned about her ticket price being covered and not so concerned about other politicians going or historically going.
Funny how they were silent about the Hatch violations.
Cry me a River you big babies.
BTW no mentions of gifts in the link provided. Do you really want to die on that hill?
I know for a fact Warren proposed a gifting bill restricting who can gift to Congress. Guess where it went and why.

I guess he can thank Bill Clinton and our intelligence agencies for making that happen.

bhahahahahahahhahaha you fucking ignorant bitch.

hey, remember when Clinton launched two missiles at an AQ hideout to take out Bin Laden, and you guys claimed he fucking made that person up and that it was some wag the dog nonsense?

You fucking self-hating piece of shit conservatives have absolutely no leg to stand on when it comes to dealing with--and also being--the actual terrorists in this world. You are the number one threat to humanity, and history will judge you that way. We do need to deal with your type now, however, before you murder more humans.
