if we have a news flash for every abduction case there would be no TV. only way money comes into this is the ability for the family to hold news confrences. but i also wonder how you knew of the girl in michigan if it isn't covered.


anyway, i actually was abducted as a child, alot younger than her. and it was years before i stopped being afraid of it happening again.

I've been listening to Elizabeth's aunt talking on MSNBC and I've been crying... It is just so heartbreaking and heartwarming... I can't imagine the emotions that they are feeling today!

I'm so glad she was found alive. Now put that scumbag into prison with a bunch of murderers. They do NOT like child molsters...

You are too eager to jump to the conclusions. We do not know what else if anything he did to the girl. We do not know if in Utah the deathpenalty is a form of punishment for kidnapping.

He took a 14 year old girl against her will at gunpoint in the middle of the night and held her for 9 months.

Maybe we can borrow a metal press from an iron works and use it to crush him... :|

lets just say a mentally ill family member came into my house (which was unlocked, now i still have a phobia of locked doors), took me to one of their friends house for about two days. i refused to eat or drink anything, which i later found out is common for traumatised children. just to hammer home the point of how far gone this family member was, there were plans to go back the next day and get my brother before we all took off to another state.





i was about 5 and remember all of this vividly

Most Child abductions are done by Family members, usually a non custodial divorced Parent

I've been thinking about kids a lot recently, since Thumper and I have been talking about them...

I can't imagine how the Smart family must be feeling. How horrible, and now how wonderful this must be...

Utah will not be trying this case. The Feds will have jurisdiction. Neither the feds nor Utah have a death penalty punishment for kidnapping... UNLESS the victim or someone else dies during the crime.

She was found wearing a a hat and sun glasses, she ran away from home, of had the kidnapping setup

I definitely believe there is more to this than meets the eye. It isn't like this girl is a 4 or 5 year old child. This was a 14 year old girl. There is no way you could kidnap a 14 year old and hold them this long without completely isolating them in a dark hole somewhere, tied and bound. 14-15 year olds are young adults, they have cognitive reasoning. If she were kidnapped it's a pretty safe bet she would not have been found out in the open like she was. It looks very much like she was willingly in his company.
