We have a mix of Android, iPhone4, iTouch and Nook Color rooted to CM 10.1.

IOS is ok.

Gets the job done HOWEVER.

If I want to load up my androids with songs and movies it a simple matter of drag and drop. No special software needed and no need to convert music\movies to Apple friendly formats.

If I'm out on my motorcycle or I'm out and about without a charger or or outlet...
I can either bring an extra battery for my phone or plop in my mega battery.
This way when the wifes iPhone is out of juice we still have my phone.

I can't wait for the HTC one to come to Verizon. A couple of friends of mine have a site where we build roms for android and that's one phone I'd love to have if I were to stay with verizon and buy it out of contract.

What's so special about the HTC One regarding media consumption?
Probably the fact that it's screen and speakers blow the iPhone 5 out of the water.

I pick Apple because they said I am troll which is not true. I find Apple is perfect for my needs and great Apple ecosystem with Calendar/Contact book sync via cloud! I have an Apple iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and MacBook Pro.

I have an HP Touchpad running Android 4.2 and an iPad 4. I like them both, but have to give the nod to Apple in terms of polish and their app store.

I'm kind of torn. I like the Nexus I'm currently using but mainly because it has a bigger screen than the iPhone 4S I was using previously. I don't do a lot of tinkering and feel like the native email client on the iPhone is superior for exchange use. I prefer swiftkey to the iOS keyboard.

Honestly it really is kind of a wash for me but I do think if Apple had a phone with a slightly larger screen that I would be using an iPhone right now.

WP8...

:sneaky:

edit: but in this household, it would be an iPhone for the wife (she rocks a flip phone and an iPod Touch currently).

Which can also easily look like this

Hell, there's a Dreamboard theme in Cydia that makes an iPhone look almost identical to Sense on HTC phones.

Lol, I always laugh at those "awesome" themes. Looks like the same garbage UI still lives on since the days of WinMo.

That's pretty cool. IMO the UI still looks crap, but it's cool to see iOS is that customisable.

I've been using Macs for a decade, but iOS sucks, so Android it is.

I'm only interested in devices I can use without asking permission from Apple (or Microsoft, or anyone else). Jailbreaking can make a crippled device less crippled, but it isn't a fix. No one in their right mind would make major software development investments for something that may go *poof* at any time, so there are entire classes of apps that will never exist for iOS, and many of the apps that are allowed in Apple's store have been crippled in order to make it there. I certainly don't want to dev my own apps in an environment like that.

On a practical level, Android is more functional for me than iOS. For instance, I use a stylus to draw graphs and sketches on my phone. If I ever bought a tablet, it would be one with a stylus also. I don't understand the usual "smoothness" complaints; Android 2.3 was perfectly usable for me and the 4.0 upgrade just made things somewhat more fluid. I'm actually keeping the phone in power saving mode most of the time. It's a little jerkier, but that makes no difference to actually accomplishing things with it.

It's for 1 finger use, the icons spin in a circle. It's actually pretty nice looking when in use. Well that's just my opinion of course.

iOS has a ton of customization, between Dreamboard, Springtomizer, Deck, Activator & Flagpaint there's really nothing I can't do on my iPhone.
