Android. The iPhone 5 is antiquated at this point and has a subpar, low res display, with crappy pixel density and a dated os.

That's an odd remark to make when the iPhone 5 is often credited as having extremely accurate colors and a 326PPI density that's second only to a wave of 1080p phones that shipped (or are shipping) months later. It's not the biggest display, but it's not at all "subpar."

In the last 6 months I've owned and iPhone4, Lumia 920, and currently a Note 2. So I've had my hands on most of the major player's OS wise.

iOS is the most reliable and adopted.
WP8 is cute, but woefully behind in function and features.
Jellybean based devices are the most functional at the cost of battery life, stupid quirks, lockups, complexity.

I love the size of my GN2, the hardware and options (SD card, removable battery, ect) and under appreciated things like customizable keyboards, functional download capability, and the ability to drag and drop music, video, and movies to it.

But good grief does it have some stupid ass quirks that drive me batty. The damn thing doesn't even have lock screen controls for most basic music functions, Slacker music is an abortion trying to use over blue tooth, it's got a terrible battery drain that is compensated by a monstrous battery size, and just odd little things like screen response, the screen not turning off after inactivity, and other little nagging things just make me wish for a larger sized iPhone again.

Terrible battery drain?

I have yet to experience this with my Note II. I've been nothing but impressed by its battery and is one of my main reasons for keeping it over my Nexus 4.

I owned an iphone 4 for 2 months on its launch before getting rid of it. My only venture into the iphone market. Android is for me.

The battery life on my Note 2 is weird. In standby it's drawing around 5% an hour doing nothing. If left on it's own and used very little it can be down to 70% by the end of the day. In comparison my old iPhone would have been at like 97% under similar use. I could never go two full days without a charger with the Note while my iPhone could be left off for close to a 5 days if I didn't hammer on it a lot.

But under a heavy load the Note seems to be beastly. I've had really bad work days where I've had hours of screen time checking emails, texting, looking up tech docs, spending hours on the phone, ect and after a brutal 14 hour day it's still happy at 50% battery life while everyone else has had their phone on a charger for the last 5 hours.

So it's like a tale of two devices. Slow, insideous drain while doing nothing but stellar life while being abused. Good with the bad in that case.

This isn't normal - even for stock. Have you installed betterbatterystats to look for wakelocks, etc? Something has to be causing this.

Are you stock?

I'm running Saberkernel 17+ . I went to bed last night with 44% battery and woke up with 43% battery... over 7 1/2 hours.

I loved my iphone 4, but honestly for the price I can't beat my nexus 4. It's an amazing phone. I won't be going back to apple.

Samsung and HTC both have accurate displays now too so that isn't an advantage for the iPhone. Plus this isn't 2010 anymore, >400ppi is the new standard for flagship phones. Heck 326 ppi was surpassed by the HTC Rezound ages ago. And there is the fact that it isn't even 720p, 640 pixels is not enough horizontal resolution these days.

I played around with a DNA.

The 1080p screen is nice but next too a One X I had that I repaired for somebody, there was almost no noticeable difference. 300+ PPI screens are already enough. I definitely wouldn't buy a phone mostly based off a 1080p screen right now. The novelty of it wears off fast unless more apps are designed for it.

Hell I'm happy with the 720p Note II as my daily phone as far as screen goes.

Too bad the one x is not coming to Verizon anymore. It's pretty much the DNA that will take its place. They are going to make another version of the DNA I heard.

Apple all day long. Much smoother and seamless experience. Love the OS standardization and seamless interaction within the ecosystem. Apple + iCloud + iTunes Match = a beautiful thing.

Closed system - Windows Phone
Open - Android

I don't particularly like iPhone, though I do like iPads.

I have HTC One right now, but I like the Lumia 920 almost as much.
