Are KDS monitors any good?

I have a KDS 17" .24ag (trinitron flat) model that i picked up from Sam's a while back for $179. It has excellent quality, about the same as my Dell P991 19" Trinitron, which costs much more.

I had a KDS 19 inch FD Trinitron for a while.

They are very nicely priced and the image quality was up to par with any other FD Trinitron I've seen (that is to say it was really nice), but I had to exchange it 3 times in an 18 month period as it went belly up prematurely.

They seem to be good monitors, but I have heard and expereinced that they're return rates can be kinda high due to poor quality control. Just gotta be lucky and get a good one, or be willing to exhange it a couple times. Just my experience though - hope it helps.

Been using this ol' KDS VS-195 19" monitor for just about 2 years now and I can't complain one bit! My fiancee has a Samsung 19" that is only about 8 months old and already has a "dead" pixel. She consistantly thinks my picture is better than hers (but I think she may think that due to the dead pixel).

Eitherway, it's been a great monitor that has been able to handle all I've thrown at it, and done so quite admirably. I'd definately consider them in the future when price and quality are of concern.

They arent viewsonics, but they are pretty good, usually priced competitively and can be found at like virtually any place that sells computer monitors, I believe they make low priced flatpanels as well ..

I have a KDS AV-21TF and it is an absolutely awesome monitor. No problems whatsoever and has great quality after being used for 16+ hours a day for over a year and a half now!

KDS monitors are nice, usually pretty low cost for a big monitor.

I have a 17" KDS Avitron FlatTube that I bought from Best Buy about 8 months ago. It was a $250 monitor that I got for $200 after the mail-in-rebate. No problems with it so far.

I have two 19" AV-195TF's that are running just fine. I don't think you can beat them for the price.

KDS USA is doing fine. It's the KDS in korea that's in trouble. Someone one this forum posted about it awhile back.
