I'm @ 50/50 so if you don't mind the possibility of some trouble go for it. Keep in mind Neweggs refurbs are not refurbs at all they are returned for one reason or another. They probably aren't supposed to do this anyway but it works out pretty well, you make out on what may have been some idiots lack of knowlege...

I also had one bad one. They took it back no problem. I wouldn't buy another refurb one from them though.

i had no problem with mine... until i installed ram the wrong way and fried the board. the board itself was perfect and i noticed there was a rewritten bios chip.

I bought one a few months ago......it had never been mounted. the manual looked like it had been left out and beat up, but everything else was brand new.

this newegg refurb Abit overclocks like a mo-fo!!. Best $49 bucks I have spent in a long time

kenleung, you must be joking right. I don't see how you could have installed RAM sticks the wrong way. They only fit one way.

Bought Gigabyte GA-7DXR ($55), Abit KR7A-Raid ($65) and Tyan S2460 ($119) and all work without a problem. Got the original box, manual, CD driver, IDE cables, floppy cable. Saved almost $300 if I bought them new.

I got mine earlier this week and it cr@pped out after two days, and all of a sudden wouldn't reboot without setting the cmos.

Its hit or miss - this was factory refurbed but definitely used before.

From this experience, mobo's are too much of a hassle to play hit or miss with.

Sucka!!!! I did that too.

It wasn't to this board tho but....I always take my time but this time I didn't - I didn't realize the ram wasn't locked in all the way and it was 'cause it was backwards, and then shortly after booting it smelled 'smokey'. It melted the ram slot, and also ruined the metal leafing on the base of the ram stick that touches the slot.

I personally think newegg are decent people and good business but my experience with their refurbished, should say returned, boards is not all cheerful.
I think you are taking a risk and if you get a good board you'll be all happy camper because they are discounted a lot BUT you might get a crap too and it won't make you happy, believe me, though they will try to make it right.

I've bought about 8 over the past 12 months and 3 had to be returned. Almost not worth the hassle if you figure up your time dealing with returns and the labor of installation. However you will not find a better bunch of folks to deal with at Newegg.
