Just finished the game. What a blast. Warhead here I come!
BTW, is Warhead supposed to be better optimized to offer slightly better performance for same quality specs?

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Crysis is the best FPS I've ever played and I've played many games over the years. Don't criticize the game because your pc can't handle it. Have you seen how much is rendered, how large the view distance is, how high-res the textures are? This isn't Call of Duty people, but if that is what you want Crysis to turn into so you can max it out and have over 60 fps then just keep on complaining.

Any frame rate over 20 is playable to the eye. Anything under that and it starts to look like a picture show to the eye, so yes, those numbers should look just fine to the human eye.

You dont need to have 300FPS to be a playable game, if that was the case, then movies you watch would need to be at 300 fps, but they are at around 24fps, and its not till you start to dip under the 20's does it start to look jerky. So just as long as ANY game is over 20, you fine. This need o must having XXXXX billion frames per second is crazy, and gotta have 120hz tv as well is crazy too unless you plan on watching some 3d stuff, which isnt really mainstream just yet.

Not quite...

The reason films/tv look so smooth at 24-30FPS is because they use techniques such as motion blur to make things more fluid. Notice how if you pause a movie in the middle of an action scene, anything that's moving will look blurry. Crysis uses similar techniques, but there is still a MASSIVE difference in smoothness between 20 and 60+ FPS in just about any game. Another important factor is consistency between frames - if you were playing a game with an extremely steady 20FPS and had the exact same time between each frame, it'd look smoother than in the average real world scenario (when you have inconsistency).

As to whether a game is playable, that's entirely subjective. Crysis is fine for me at 20FPS, but there are other games where 20FPS is unbearable for me (and I end up dropping settings to get a higher framerate).
