Depending on the state she is in she will be held insane if she was motivated by some irresistible impulse, was unable to conform her conduct to the law or realize the wrongfulness or her actions, or various other tests. Here, there are not enough facts to determine whether said girl is legally insane. Thus, in a legal trial if the girl the defense of insanity would legally fail. Girl would probably be convicted of second degree murder (if state distinguishes between 1st and 2nd degree murder).
