Should have picked Iceland. I know a guy going soon and thanks to their currency destruction it's costing him very little.going on vacation in a little over 2 weeks. hope the euro drops enough in value to make it worth while :0

Sure, but who wants to go to Iceland?
Spain is imploding now.
This is so much fun
It's not typical. Greece is in dire straights.Greece will never implode. This is typical stuff that has happened for decades. Greece has gone through a lot of stuff over the years from Turkish occupation, German occupation, Juntas and the people are very combative when it comes to the government. It doesn't help that they spend a higher percentage of their GDP than the US on military stuff because of Turkey and all the screwed up countries in the Balkans. Its a very complex issue and most of you like to read articles and understand but you really don't. I'm Greek and have visited 8 Greece 8 times and its a beautiful country with a laid back approach of doing things.

Why do you think they made the news?
Hint: It's not for the Parthenon.

Maybe Government, should just get out of the way.

It's probably worth noting that the Spain is one of the most fiscally responsible countries in the EU, and were running surpluses prior to the recession. They primary reason they are in trouble is because they can't print Euros or deevaluate their currency.
Gold standard part deux
Um, Greece is part of NATO. I don't think they have to worry about someone attacking them.
You don't know the history between Turkey and Greece. Like I said, all you guys do is sit on the computer, read excerpts on nytimes.com, and then you guys know everything about every subject. Greece will be ok. They've been through occupations and still survived. This is a small blip.
Although being Greek by default makes you an expert on their finances, just as all Americans are expert on the American economy, this "blip" doesn't seem to be considered a blip by many people watching the situation including, of great note, actual Greeks who live there and are rioting/losing their incomes. You don't know the history between Turkey and Greece. Pakistan will never implode. This is typical stuff that has happened for decades. Pakistan has gone through a lot of stuff over the years from Indian occupation, British occupation, Juntas and the people are very combative when it comes to the government. It doesn't help that they spend a higher percentage of their GDP than the US on military stuff because of India and all the screwed up countries in South Asia. Its a very complex issue and most of you like to read articles and understand but you really don't. I'm Pakistani and have visited 8 Pakistan 8 times and its a beautiful country with a laid back approach of doing things.

It also has outsized pensions and an entitlement mentality. Let Greece fail, don't give it any loans. Let the people of Greece suffer for not agreeing to cut spending and balance their budget.

I say let Greece implode, so that US politicians can show their constituents "Look what happened to Greece..." and get unpopular debt management policies passed
Im agreeing with Skoorb and the others. Greece must fall, so that the rest of the lazy losers of the world realize what happens when they try to live on other peoples wealth.
