Just curious . . . If they have no proof you did anything, how did you get implicated in the first place??? Did they pull your name out of a hat and get lucky? I'm guessing they can link you to the prank somehow.
Secondly, what is your record at the school? Are you a troublemaker? Straight A student without a blemish? This will heavily factor into their decision.
Thirdly, what types of students were the other people involved? If they were troublemakers, the faculty is probably just trying to pin this on them, but can only do so through you.
From my experience talking to school administrators (I actually had a conversation with a dean last night regarding a school prank that was pulled last week), they hate this time of the year. If they let one group of seniors get away with a prank, that opens them up to each subsequent class trying to one-up them, all while expecting some sort of leniency. They need some way of keeping the pranks to a minimum. Your prank was relatively harmless, but as you stated you knew the consequences.
