How do you even do that? All I see from geforce experience is that optimizer crap I never use.

There's a check for updates tab under preferences. Just click that and it should download any SLI profiles that are needed. The SLI profile should show 0x080000F1 in NVidia inspector if you have the correct profile.

Yeah that's the one that is there, it shares that profile with call of duty Advanced Warfare

For people with the 30FPS issue. Go to the installation folder Batman Arkham Knight\BmGame\ Config\BmSystemSettings.ini and look in the file for "MaxFPS=30" change it to what you want

That is odd... does it default to 30fps on consoles as well?

It defaults to 30 you have to change the .ini file to override it, but users with Titan X and 980 SLI setups report horrible stutters. Yet another "AAA" title that ships broken for PC. Way to fail console ports. The negative reviews are flowing in en-mass, all related to horrible performance on all setups.

GTA V and Witcher 3 show how its meant to be done.

Game runs fine on my rig.

3770k
GTX980TI
1400p resolution

Aside from Batman's horrible voice acting the game is quite good. Some very nice upgrades have been made to the combat system. Graphics are really nice, etc. Got a big goofy grin on my face when I got to drive the batmobile for the first time. What is not to like?

Also FWIW if its running at 30FPS it certainly does not seem to matter. Its buttery smooth to my eyes.

I haven't played it yet, but Kevin Conroy is the definitive Batman voice, so I find it hard to believe Batman has horrible voice acting in this game.

Is that with the Gameworks stuff enabled? Game is unpacking for me right now, I'll report back later once it's finished and tell everyone what my performance is like..

Arkham Fail.

What is the deal with this generation of games? More money than ever is being exchanged and yet games are released in horrific condition.

Well my overall impression so far is a bit negative I must say. The performance certainly isn't there. My SLI usage is terrible, with both cards getting in the 30s and 40s on average.. I'm thinking I might try to disable SLI and use my other GTX 980 as a dedicated PhysX card..

Frame rate wise, the game plays smooth for the most part, but it's obviously nowhere near 60 FPS even with the frame rate limit removed.

I have everything on maxed settings, Gameworks included. One thing too, is that this game uses a TON of RAM. It uses all of my VRAM, but the RAM usage is very high. I clocked a little over 8GB during the Batmobile chase.. So now is the time to upgrade to 16GB if you haven't done so already.

One good thing, is that I haven't seen the slightest stuttering, even during the car chases. That's something I feared was going to happen given that the game uses Unreal Engine 3.5, or a variant of it.

And man, I hate the film grain effect! Is there any way to turn that shit off?

One tip for NVidia gamers, is to disable the in game Vsync and use the driver control panel Vsync instead. That made the game smoother for me..

Also, man this game has some awesome use of reflections! There are reflections everywhere, and it looks just like the Samaritan demo!

It's a beautiful looking game, and I hope that Rocksteady patch it up nicely so it can fulfill it's potential..

For all it's performance issues, the game still runs smooth for me for the most part and is definitely playable.

once I unlocked the 30fps I got pretty smooth 60fps but so far in less than an hour I got 2 fatal error crashes.

Im pretty bummed, dont want to keep playing and getting crashes every 30 minutes. The more it happens the more I will hate the game. Ill just put it on the back burner for a few weeks until it gets patched, But man fuck dev for continuing to put out sub par products.

Interesting comparison, GameWorks rain on PC vs PS4 rain:

http://bbs2.ruliweb.daum.net/gaia/d...ad?articleId=1765314&bbsId=G003&itemGroupId=1

PS4 looks more realistic, with droplets spreading and falling down where it hits.

welp, thanks gameworks, very useful.

also, the ram issues this game has are insane, it can literally swallow 15 gigs, and not even think about giving any of it back, while stuttering like the worst out there. even if this is an ultra direct port from consoles, how the hell does it even run over there?

if I didn't know, I'd think this was a Ubisoft port, it's so bad.

Nvidia no Framerateworks strikes again. They want gtx970 and 980 users to upgrade to Titan x and 980ti's now so gameworks is intentionally wrecking performance in another triple a title.

it's not quite that bad, many gtx 970 and 980 users are ok, but it's just very inconsistent, as many with very similar setups do suffer from stutter and bad performance drops.

now, the amd side of the story...

but yeah, gameworks is crap, if the ps4 effects are actually looking better, while running on inferior hardware, I don't see any point to gameworks being used at all.

So is it worth getting then? I mean I don't want some performance problems to ruin the game experience for me and the negative feedback it is getting worries me a bit. What kind of frame rates are you seeing?

It's not a question of the cost but I want to enjoy the game when I play it.

Maybe it gets better later in the game. But Batman's voice acting in the first hour is pretty terrible IMO. The narrator (Gordon?) is also pretty bad.

And yes, I agree that Kevin Conroy is the definitive Batman voice and that the poor voice acting is surprising. Maybe its not the acting per se, but the quality of the audio. It just seems . . . stilted.

Again, its just my opinion.

Yes. I have everything on, including vsync. Only time I notice (a little) stuttering is during cut scenes. Gliding, etc. is smooth as silk for me. I'm using an Asus reference GTX 980TI with a 3770k at 4.0GHz, 16GB ram, Windows 7X64 at 1400p. Game is run off a Samsung 840 SSD (if that matters).

I don't doubt that a lot of people are having performance issues. I'm just glad that I am not experiencing the same difficulties.

Also FWIW I'm not surprised at your SLI performance. Few games come out with working SLI profiles at launch (this is the primary reason I run a single card solution at a "lower" resolution). I bet your situation improves with improved drivers and a patch.

I will agree that something is off with the voice acting or audio. While I own the last three games, I really haven't spent more than a couple hours with any of them, I was shocked at how underwhelming the dialogue was for Batman and Gordon.

The stuttering was also something that I did not experience. Running at 1440p at a steady locked 30fps from a RAID 0 SSD drive. Didn't get a chance to research the fps lock so will mess with that after work. I'm wondering if the combination of SSD and 32GB RAM helped?

I remember when Origins came out and everyone was whining about how broke it was, and how Rocksteady at least made games that worked. Good times.

Rocksteady makes great games, but they are not the most technically competent dev house out there, that's for sure. DX11 never worked properly in AC. And the Origins team was using Rocksteady's engine.

So here we have a new Batman game on a new engine, and people are surprised it's broke at launch? I was hoping this wasn't the case, but I'm not shocked. Add the $100 price tag for a complete edition and retailer-specific pre-order DLC and I'm surprised so many gamers jumped on this.

Actually, I'm not. Gamers talk, but they never back it up. I will enjoy playing this game in a year or so.

Was just reading about this over on Ars. Doesn't sound like it's so much a GameWorks issue as it is a sloppy port of the console version. Hence the 30fps cap.

I don't like the whole concept of GameWorks though. This isn't the first time it's been accused of causing problems with Radeon cards. Some of it's just AMD saber rattling, but there definitely seems to be a grain of truth in it. This is why proprietary and hardware specific APIs and assets are bad for consumers. I feel the same way about CUDA. This problem doesn't really exist with CPUs, so why should GPUs be any different?

I don't have any real issue with Nvidia as far as their cards go. Only really use AMD because they tend to have a better price-performance ratio for their mid-range and performance tier cards. However, I'll probably go out of my way to avoid GameWorks titles on principle, even if I do switch to Nvidia for my next build.

Also the obligatory "this is why you don't pre-order game" spiel.
