I've dated mainly white girls my whole life. The right ones are such darling things Asian women are beautiful also, but I'm not too into the whole asian american youth subculture thing (designer clothes, lowered hondas, wannabe ebonics, etc.) so I don't relate to them well. Plus I get the feeling that alot of them are snobby, I don't know if this is merely my perception or not.

fortunately this isn't a problem with the asians here in west texas.. perhaps because they are like 1% of the population. BUU the hispanic population has taken the place of the asians. we have mexican ricers in this part of the country. :Q

As long as you understand that there is probably going to be some culture clash involved... if you are in a serious relationship with someone from a different ethnic background, you had better be ready for some stress.

Mr Isla is White Southern Protestant and I am Hispanic Catholic, 3rd generation born in America. You would think that would be no problem but you would be WRONG!

Anytime two people from different backgrounds come together, you have to make adjustments and compromise. It can be worth it, but don't do it if you are not willing to meet your mate halfway.

Just my .02 on the inter-racial-culture thing.

I don't know if this is directed at me or not, but it's worth making a reply. No generalizations were made after all, I am 100% chinese and have many AA friends. I only made notice of the asian american youth phenomenon which is quite common here in California.

Anyways, Alpha lives where Asians are 99.99% of the population(Alot of Hispanics too). Over in my end, it's 99.99% hispanic and whenever all us Asians hang out togeher at lunch, maybe 30-40 people? Not much selection here.

That probably won't happen with me and if it does, it will be completely and utterly unfounded. Almost everyone in my family from my parent's generation has a college degree. For my generation (IE cousins), everyone does have a college degree (discounting the kids still in school). Hell, my uncle has like four kids, three of which finished med school and the last is finishing up as a premed. I used to think about dropping out of college, but one of the things that kept me going was how sucky it would be to be the only kid from my generation/extended family to not have a degree.
