Good deal if you need a cheap upgrade
This is Open Box, so you may or may not get the accessories with it.

i got 2 of these from newegg open box about 6 months ago for $27.00 shipped each.

and both came as new everything sealed full retail box.

both are in friends systems and are running great.

they both were unstable at first, but as soon as i updated the bios both were flawless.

just make sure you update the bios to the latest.

I've got one that is supposed to be delivered today!! Hope it is not DOA, My luck runs that way! I have so much good older junk laying around, just perfect for this board. Good price if it works.

Ordered one, mostly against my own better judgment. I had an ASRock 939-Dual SATA2 for awhile, and it was awesome, I dunno what I'll use this one for tho, lol.

Thanks op

I have one of their 478 dual boards and it is stable. The AGP slot is funky in Linux though (excessive CPU/interrupt) but the PCIe slot seems to work normal. Thinking about the 775...

Yeah I have a 939Dual as well and I LOVE it, but this one doesn't seems as full featured as it. At least I wish it would have a 16X PCIE lane instead of 4X and like a 3Gb/s SATAII port. But I guess its hard to complain considering every other quad core mobo is at least around $100. I think I still might pick this one up.

edit: Oops, thought it was the quad core one. Nm

Mine came in this afternoon on Fedex, did a quick bench set up and it boots fine. It came in a retail box with everything included, even the bag had the tamper proof seal ?

When I get time to set it up I post back Got mine from Mwave.com

Work with the Core 2 Duo here? http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?item=N82E16819115029

Odd, it says it's C2D compatible MOBO, but I was under the impression the new CPU's require DDR2 ram... I've been out of the loop for a while.
C2D does not require DDR2, it is just that most all chipsets (memory controller on the NB) that Core 2 chips run on require DDR2. This Asrock is an exception; the VIA chipset takes DDR memory.

As far as working with the E6750; I don't know if it will at full speeds since the E6750 runs at 8 x 333 and the Asrock board says it only supports up to 266 (1066 effective) FSB. So you would have to overclock the FSB to get it running close to full speed (2.66 Ghz) It will probably work at reduced speeds though (8 x 266 = 2.16 GHz at least).

Good advice Conroe.

I bought a couple of these 775Dual-VSTA that were open box from newegg about a couple months ago ($54 shipped for both). We recently bought an E4400 for my oldest son and it works great (we did flash the BIOS to the latest version before installing Win XP). He also got the EVGA 7600GT PCI-E deal that was floating around when he got the E4400.

Upgraded from AMD 2500+ and an old ATI 9800 AGP (which died), he was blown away with the performance boost. He did transfer the old 2x512MB 184 pin memory sticks to the new set up.

I've been using one for a few months now under WinXP SP2, an E6300, DDR2 ram and an AGP 9800 Pro. Overclocking isn't so great.

Something's horribly wrong with my USB drivers that I've never been able to figure out. While USB storage devices show up, their data can not be seen. Clicking on a device (USB mediacard reader's SD and microSD slots, tons of different flash drives, a Western Digital external 500gb, etc) comes back with "Would you like to format this device" even though they all work fine on any other computer. I'm getting ready to upgrade to a P3K or P5B and maybe use this in a sub-system.

It appears to still be available at a slightly higher $38 and change. The question is, does it do a 1333 FSB? Anyone tried it?

no it does not.

you 'll be lucky to get much over 1200FSB

a few have gotten higher with voltage mods and so on, but this is a cheap reliable board for a cheap set-up.

the best thing to do with this board is buy a cheap E4300 with 800FSB, and overclock to 1066FSB, and be happy with that 24/7.

also mine were very picky about ddr1 ram, some worked some did not and i tried about a dozen different kinds.

I had no problems with ddr2 ram at all, and i tested about 6 different kinds in the 2 boards.

The 4 x PCI-E does limit perfromance on highend video cards like the 7900GTX or faster.

this is a great way to upgrade if you are on a tight budget.

Be sure and flash the bios to the latest, as both my boards were very unstable till I flashed the bios to the latest.

I bought one of these and it just came in the mail today. It did not come with any accessories or io panel. The board is also a bit dirty/dusty. I guess you get what you pay for. I've emailed AsRock to see if they'll send me the io panel.
