Do you have to install games now?
People champion consoles like no other, but they are starting to become PCs, really really bad ones.
Wow, I've never seen so many people troll a game that they don't even have. Even to the extent that they are using console issues in a PC GAMING thread as a prop for their childish arguments.. D:
If you had bothered to even read the Gaf thread, most people are reporting positive experiences from the patch. The extra pop in was just one guy reporting it, most other people say there was no change at all..
And regarding optimization, NVidia's recently released 347.09 drivers gave a very large performance boost to their consumers in AC Unity (up to 10 FPS), which just underscores what I've been saying about how crucial drivers are to game performance and that you can't just blame the developer for everything..
In my opinion, this game was fun. I generally enjoyed playing it and am glad that I had the opportunity. I hope that Ubisoft publishes Victory properly, even if it means delays.
The game engine itself is the same on consoles and PCs which means if they had to redesign entire sections of a game level on the console, it's coming to the PC too.
I think we're all adults here, and don't need to be told how to spend our own hard earned cash..Which proves the point that buying most AAA PC games, especially Ubisoft games at $60 is not worth it. By the time the game is in any shape of form playable with most bugs resolved, it's already selling for 50% of its launch MSRP. Ubisoft games adhere to this rule like clock work.

Still resorting to this lame argument I see. Using 4x MSAA in ANY game that uses deferred rendering will result in a massive performance hit, but especially a game like AC Unity that is rendering a tremendous amount of detail..10 fps higher is nothing for a game that to begin with ran at 25 fps on a 780Ti and 33 fps on a 980 at 2560x1600 with 4xMSAA despite not looking jaw dropping spectacular.
I bet most of them were too stupid to check the system requirements and are now paying for it....literallyOn Amazon, the PC version got 56% 1-star ratings. A lot of people have already voiced their opinion that Unity should have been delayed 6-12 months and these patches keep proving this.
No one is denying that you had fun.
We're saying the game isn't a technical masterpiece.
The two aren't mutually exclusive.
Carfax meanwhile is saying the game is a technical masterpiece.

BS. If you're making a game for consoles, you need to understand the console's limits and design your game within them. The console makers can be faulted at a higher level for not making more powerful consoles, but responsibility for ACU's shit performance on all platforms, console and PC, falls ultimately to the developer. And who's fault is it that the consoles are weak sauce? Only low end PCs have difficulty running AC Unity now that the drivers are up to snuff for both AMD and NVidia.
You don't even need to bring MSAA into the discussion, ACU has piss poor optimization without MSAA.Still resorting to this lame argument I see. Stop putting fricking words in my mouth. I never said it was a masterpiece. For me to use such a descriptive term, the game would have to be close to perfect and AC Unity isn't perfect by any means..
AC Unity is technically brilliant and impressive in many ways though. No one with any objectivity and knowledge of graphics technology would deny that..
It falls short in many areas however, especially the LoD transitions; which may be fixed in patch 4.
Like the majority of the game?
crap crap crap. gotta take a crap on AC.
You're more than welcome to make an ACUnity appreciation thread where you only talk about the good points of the game and ignore every other single thing.
God knows Ubisoft would love the positive PR.
I'm just sick of nothing but crap. seriously, this entire thread is a handful of people just crapping all over the game. There's no reason I can't call it out. This thread about the game has nothing to do with the game, and is almost exclusively just crap crap crap.
ffs. the point has been made.

For low end machines.. Peoples' sense of entitlement never ceases to amaze me. The hardware specs were published for everyone to see, but there are TONS of people still trying to play the game on subpar hardware. And when they get low performance, they blame the developer because their hardware could "never" be at fault......no reallyYou don't even need to bring MSAA into the discussion, ACU has piss poor optimization without MSAA.
This is a tech enthusiast forum. We crap on games that are poorly made on the technical side, it's just in our DNA. If that bothers you so much, I'm sure there are other gaming forums you can go to that don't care so much about tech and performance.
Like the majority of the game?
Did you ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, there is a lot of "crap" in the thread about this game because it was poorly made?
The 56% 1 star ratings, Most Disappointing game of the year, numerous massive patches to fix bugs (or hide them), pop in, floating models, faceless people, weak graphics (but still requiring extensive hardware to run it), etc. (my hands are getting tired from posting this games faults)
Maybe those are among some of the reasons that it's getting a lot of crap?

AC Unity was in development long before the current gen console specs became known. They developed the game for PC hardware first, just like Watch Dogs. When the finalized specs became known and they had access to PS4 and Xbox One dev kits, that's likely when they started making changes to accommodate the consoles.
It was probably too late at that point to do a full restructuring without sacrificing the vision of the game itself..
Yeah, tell that to Totalbiscuit and his SLI'd 980s.For low end machines.. Peoples' sense of entitlement never ceases to amaze me. The hardware specs were published for everyone to see, but there are TONS of people still trying to play the game on subpar hardware. Are you saying that I'm not welcome? That my opinion that this thread is nothing but a crap-fest is not welcome?
Without those posts this thread would just be you and Carfax wondering why it seems so lonely in here. Like it or not, the vast majority of people who played this game were disappointed by it in some fashion, including rampant technical issues, and those are perfectly valid responses for this thread.
