Where you place blame, I'm placing credit. I don't doubt that any attempt to extend it would have failed in the House. As for the Senate, they had their chance and they overwhelmingly sank it.The Senate was ready to pass the assault weapons ban reauthorization. they had the votes. It was the house and members like Delay and the Republican leadership that refused to hold a vote. Republicans control both houses of Congress and the White house. They are to blame.
Apparently, they didn't want it that badly.
