umm, like, whoa

1) can lock PCI, AGP
2) stable at 200+, which would allow runnin DDR400 SYNC with FSB
3) can override multipliers on "locked" XP's

this could very well be my next mobo. methinks i'll wait for the anandtech beta testers to wring it out but it looks promising.

now where is nv30, SATA drives, and cheaper DVD-RW's. i'm not upgrading until I get all 3

Ummm, yes actually. You don't see Via releasing the KT400, KT400A, KT400B, and KT400 AB in a couple of months do you? The KT333 has been out for some time now, and the new KT400 boards have just come out within the past couple months. Intel has released several i845 based chipsets in much less time, so yes, Via is different lately.

Just subsribe to Maxium PC, they recently did an article that benchmarked 9700's/4600's/ to GF2 if I recall right.
12.00 a year, for an in print magazine.
Can't beat that!

I've not seen any other upcoming nForce2 mobo with RAID on-board, unless this is a common thing for the optional serial ATA controller. Heck, rather than buy a separate RAID controller, I'd much rather use this and have serial --> parallel adapters on my two drives (small cables too).

I was really planning on getting a different company's nForce2, but, I do so like RAID. Mebbe dis'll be my first Asus board...

Edit: Just saw that the Chaintek board has the same thing. I guess none of these boards will have an ol'-fashioned IDE RAID controller, eh? In any case, I hope there are more options.

I don't know for sure, but the picture at Newegg sure looks like it should, mounting holes look right...don't see any obstruction.

I'd like to know for sure as well, I'm leaning toward this board for my new "HTPC everything powerhouse" rig <---Ohhhbaby!

I see that its finally almost time for me to get rid of this p3 850 crap. I think that this asus board is definitely going to be in my upgrade. I'm probably going to get a 2400+, but if i get impatent maybe a 1600+ AGOIA

i'm wishing i shoulda spent the extra $10 on the alpha... i didn't think it would fit and just got an sk7 oh well, it's a really nice HS and i can use a quieter 92mm fan. just no use of the mounting holes
