I have the ASUS M3N78-PRO motherboard and I am trying to setup a RAID 1 array. I had it working fine with my old MSI board. When I rebuilt my computer, I backed up all the info on the array, assuming I would have to recreate it.
I have 2 identical WD 500Gig SATA drives. I have 6 SATA ports on the mother board, the drive the OS is on is a single drive plugged into port one, the 2 RAID disks are plugged into ports 5 & 6, which according to the manual are dedicated to RAID operation. In the BIOS, if I set SATA operation to RAID, I can access the RAID controller and set up the array exactly like I have done in the past, however the system will not boot. If i leave SATA operation in IDE mode, it boots into windows (Vista - 32bit ultimate), but will not recognize the disks at all (not even in disk manager or in the bios).
I cannot think of anything else to try, but as I am not very experienced with RAID arrays I figured I would let this loose in the ATOT crowd and see what i get!
