Asus motherboard Problem-P4C800 Deluxe....

When I recieved my P4C800 Deluxe, it had the P4C800 non-deluxe bios installed on it. I'm postive its the deluxe, since it says deluxe on it multiple times, but I want to flash it to deluxe because I'm afraid I might need to to use the raid features,(getting another hard drive to put in raid) so what should I do?

IMO send the board back as someone had the board before you if it indeed has the non-deluxe bios.
flashing the bios may just kill the board.

Are you sure they use different BIOS's? The P4P800 Deluxe/non-Deluxe both show the same BIOS file for downloading. I noticed this when I recently DL'd a new BIOS file for my P4P800. Maybe it is the same with the P4C800.

does ASUS have a windows based flash utility?

They do but with the P4C800 you will kill your board if you use it. You need to do bios updates using their utility afudos and boot from a floppy.

That is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard! As long as you do not use any of the beta BIOS out there it is safe to flash in windows. I have flashed my P4C800 and my friends numerous times without any problems.

So, how do I flash in windows? Do I need any special files? Actually, could someone just tell me exactly what I need just in case, as I have never flashed a mobo before. But you do think its safe to use the Deluxe bios? I have had the mobo for a long time, like 3 months, and never thought anything of it not saying deluxe, so Im not sending it back, could someone just answer my other questions?

But is it safe, and is it any different to do it in windows? The main thing I am worried about it wrecking the mobo because the bios is not for my motherboard. But whats a hardware specific thing the Deluxe has that the non doesnt so I can be absolutely postive it wont mess anything up?

Just looked around, and go thtis: My BIOS version is 1002.001, and the earliest nondeluxe version is 1004. Does that mean this version is so eearly it doesnt have the deluxe sign on the bootup screen, but still is the deluxe bios?

Did you even read my new question? I think it is a deluxe, but such as early version of the BIOS it doesn't say deluxe yet, as this is 1002 and the earliest nondeluxe bios is 1004. I just want to make sure you guys think its ok.
