Asus Nforce2 question?

I just put my new system together, everything went great, except the IDELed light stays on constantly, I tried revercing oit and it didn't light up at all. Does anyone know how to fix it?

It's not realy a problem. You know the light that lights up when there's hard drive activity? It just stays on constantly instead of going on and of like it should.

That's the first place I looked

The IDE LED header is a solo 2-pin header. On page 25 of the manual, it's the vertical 2-pin header at BUZZ1's 2-o'clock position, not the horizontal one that says SMB1 at the right end. If you've already got it on there and it won't work properly in either direction then try shutting down, disconnecting non-essential drives and booting up that way to see if it makes any difference. My LED on my Abit does the same thing. When I reverse the plug it doesn't function at all!

Aloha,

Mine did the same thing on a Gigabyte board. What I found out was that my DVD ROM (Artec) wanted to be the master instead of the slave. Once I changed the DVD to to master the IDE LED acted normally. Hope this helps.
