Thugs - nice work, that is awesome! I know you're busy playing with your new board, but I'm hoping you can answer a question for a newb. I've never OC'ed before, but I bought this board and put a P4 2.4 on it last week. Since I wasn't planning on OC'ing it, I just bought some Crucial PC2100 RAM. But after reading some people's posts on here about how good the board was, I thought I'd try some mild OC'ing. So I just bumped the fsb to 150. Since Monday, it's been stable and had no problems. According to asusprobe, the cpu temp at idle is 44 and at load ~55. I'm using the stock heatsink and fan, and only have 2 case fans total, and I have a 480W ps. So my question is, am I running too hot, and is it safe to do this with stock everything? If so, how far should I try pushing my system? Thanks for any tips you got, sounds like you're the master!
Your temps are within limits, but they are pretty high...you can probably improve that just by improving your case cooling. Are using the thermal pad under the heatsink? If so, a thermal compound will help also. After the cheap fixes are the expensive ones...like a new heatsinkOriginally posted by: Ruhnie

[IMHO: you can use the stock w/o fear if.... you dont use its thermal pad~ you dont add any vcore~ have decent case cooling~ the p4g8x has a temp reading bug ~ its about 3-4* high
