I'm using the x86 tweaked bios.
My problem is that my computer fails to load with 2-2-2-5 settings, it just hangs at the tweaked bios screen.

I'm using corsair 3200 ram, and the ddr voltage is set to 2.7 v

Any advice?

Are you running 2-2-2-5-2? Try 2-2-2-5-3 16T instead.

IMHO: tweak bios is slower then WPCRset by about 75-100 3dmarks.

Yep - Use wpcredit/wpcrset
It is without a doubt faster

uninstalled the tweak bios, and fiddled with WPCRset.
at 2-2-2-5 win xp crashes upon reboot at fsb 150 mhz

so i guess its out of the question for me

Anyway, does 2-2-2-5 present a (an actual) perfomance boost compared to 2-2-2-6 ?

I was running my TwinX XMS3200c2-P "by SPD" with the tweaker bios and it was coming up at 2-2-2-5 with the turbo on (1T) at 169fsb..seemed to be stable..but I didnt Memtest it at all...still testing the CPU

I'm not a DDR memory expert, but even Sisoft Sandra memory scores won't see that much of a difference, so you definately won't see actual performance boost between the two settings.

2225 vs 2226 = not much of a diff

you can use the X-bios to run memtest86~ it does work.

It's cool the X-86 Secret guys are still making hacked ASUS BIOS's. I used the one that they started with on my ASUS CUSL-2. It would go to slow timings above 140 FSB AND go to AGP 2X! That would cause a GF3 to lock hard as soon as you launched a 3D application. :| If it weren't for that BIOS, I would have junked that mobo. Why does Asus have this issue on all of their 815x/845x and even 7205 boards? None of the other mfgrs do. Yeah, you can hack to get around it, but still.....

At least the French are good for something!

I am wondering about the AGP at 256 problem.
I just upgraded to a Redeon 9500 pro and set
the AGP to 256 yesterday and since then I have had one random reboot.
I don't know if its due to the new card or the new aperture setting, or drivers etc so I was wondering
what problem you had at 256 AGP aperture?

The good thing is after I installed the card AGP x 8 worked right off the bat without a lot of tweaking.

on the bugs that say "hardware error" thats exactly what happened.

when i booted up windows, it made it to the desktop and literally said "hardware error, hit OK to reboot", and then it just did it again.

this was on an nvidia card.

There are known issues with the 9700 Pro and the 7205 chipset.
If you continue to have problems, disable fast writes and uncheck
write combining in your display properties. There also is really no
performance difference that I could see from 128 to 256 AGP aperture.

What exactly are the issues with the 9700? I don't think I have had any problems as of yet...
