ASUS P4PE and Which video card?

I am awaiting the arrival of my new rig and will be needing a video card to go with it. I have a 4200 with 64mb that I can swipe from my present rig but this one will need its own.

I am on a budget so the high end 9700Pro or TI4600 are out unless there is some great deal.

I have been reading about the 9500Pro or maybe another TI4200 with 128mb.

Your suggestions on which would work well are greatly appreciated.

Online games, Unreal Tournament with all the goodies on (that the card can support) are a few of the uses the card will be required, office apps for homework too!!!

i would recommend 9500 Pro over Ti4200

It is faster and is compliant with directx 9

I'm not so sure a Ati card is the way to go. I have a p4 @2.4ghz with a Sapphire 9700 Pro and Windows XP. Open GL is amazing at lowest settings (performance) in Counter-Strike.

However, there's NO WAY I can get the games Unreal, Unreal Napali, & Unreal Tournament to work with this card. I tried every tweak & alteration I could find on the web including DirectX9 & Catalyst 3.0 drivers.

Maybe it's just Windows XP, but I'd bet a peanut butter sandwich that if I had a Geforce card, those games would play well.

You might do well by asking in the games forum here (and elsewhere) if the new Ati cards will play all software well.
