Asus P4PE booting problem...

Hello All ! I just put a new machine together: Asus P4PE,P4 @ 2.53 and I am using the latest bios. The boot process freezes on a screen which says The Hardware Mopnitor found an error. Enter Power Setup Menu for details. I have checked it out and I see nothing wrong. I then have to press F1 to finish booting up. What a pain. Any ideas ? Thanks...

Perhaps you have a CPU fan that runs so slowly that the motherboard can't detect its RPM, or perhaps it's not plugged into the CPU_FAN1 connector that's located above the DIMM slots at the top edge of the board. Solution: plug in a fan with a detectable RPM (usually above 2100RPM will do it) on the CPU_FAN1 header.

If that's not the issue, maybe it's a voltage problem? But that's my first guess Good luck!

I had the same problem with my Asus P4GE, it was the case and PSU fan speeds too low. Go into the BIOS, get into hardware moitoring, the problrm fan speeds were in red font in my BIOS, just set them to ignore. That fixed my problem - its been running great.

BTW I have an Antec case with Antec smartpower 350 watt PSU
