Ok....i'm definately a newbie. I opened up my mobo box and asked myself what in this world did I get myself into. But, I'm doing ok I think. I have a question about some wires from the case actually. I have the Antec SX835II Performance II case. It has some lead wires labeled TPA-, TPA+, TPB+,TPB-, VG,VP. Where do these go? I was thinking the IEEE 1394 pins, but a 10-1 to 6 pin connector came with the mobo. I plugged the 10 pin side into the mobo, and the 6 pin side into the 1394 module, which took up a slot in the back. There were 2 ieee 1394 cables. thanks for the help.......I'm sure I'll have another question or 2 or 20 later. : )

Hi there, I'm a fairly new guy to it all as well. I also just bought a P4Pe mobo and a Antech case. Not sure I have those same wires, My case only has USB ports in the front, no firewire.

I am curious if you plan on using your onboard sound card or do you plan on using a Sound blaster or something like that? If you use the onboard, let me know how it sounds or how you like it. I can't use mine right now because I only have the digital input cable for my speakers and it doesn't fit the on the Asus mobo. Keep us posted.

Hey. I think I figured out that those wires won't connect. They are for teh connections on the front of the case, whereas I'll have a separate module for the back of the case.

I'm planning on using hte onboard sound initially. If I'm not pleased, I'll pull my soundcard from the computer I'm on now, and put it in or buy a new one.

However, I posted in the general hardware forum that I cna't get the new mobo to boot. The green light on the mobo lights up. The fans were originally turning for about 4-5 seconds and then stopping, but now they don't even turn. The monitor stayed in sleep mode, and there were no beeps. If you have any advice, i'll gladly take it. Right now, I don't have ay drives installed, just memory, video card, cpu, and fans. Thanks for any help.
