Asus P4PE problems/concerns?

ok i am building a new system soon. going with this mobo, Corsair 512MB 3200ddr, wd 80gb x2 Raid0, p4 2.53

i heard that u cant do raid with this board is it true?

should i just go with p4 2.4b save $40 and oc?

what kind of performance increase with 3200 ddr over 2700 kingston?

any other problems anyone having with the mobo? anyone have success in trying raid0 with wd special editions? thx

I just reread the manual regarding this and apparently, the drive connected to the single IDE RAID connector is must be set as the Master and then use either of the other IDE connectors as the slave of the RAID array or either of the SATA connectors or all three (?). Therefore, yes, you can do RAID on the RAID equiped P4PE.

That's what I did.

Grab the 3200 if you are going to o/c. Different FSB frequencies will unlock different RAM speeds in the BIOS. If you RAM isn't up to snuff the board will default to 266 or worse, it won't boot. I had some crappy DDR333 RAM before and was stuck at 2.4GHz. Just the other day I picked up a stick of OCZ 3200 CL2 and I can now run my P4PE at 2.7GHz with the RAM running at 400MHz!

If the P4PE is anything like the A7V8X I have, one can only hook up one drive to the blue parallel ATA connector and then one has to use the serial ATA connectors for different drives. The adapters for converting parallel IDE drives to serial ATA seem to run about $40 right now.

anyone try overclocking a 2.53 with this board? with what ram and what kind of results?
im guessing it would be no better than a 2.4b. u think im correct on the assumption?

I have the 2.53 on this board with 2 512 sticks of Corsair PC-3500. I am running it at 2.85 (150 FSB) now untill I get some time to mess around with serious overclocking. It runs like a champ and hasn't crashed on me yet.
