ZZF just raised the price $30 to $159.99

EDIT: Didn't see page 2 when I replied. Sorry.

Ouch, $179.99 now and out of stock. The more prices rise, the more it makes me want to wait until next year.

Its becoming a bad trend lately. Of course its not just with mobos the stores been overcharging. Its happening with RAM, processors, and video cards as well.

Yes, it is. However, at $170 for a $130 board that's going to have a replacement that will do 2.4V vDimm, I'm going to have to pass on this one.

I can get a full blown loaded board for $200, and we should see more C2 steppings come out soon anyway.

I know I won't be feeding ZZF's greed...and I'm waiting for rev. 1.02G anyway. Then again, by that time maybe I'll have changed my mind entirely.

It'll be interesting to see how long ZZF can maintain this bloated price. And there's also the mystery of what the P5B-E Plus will have that the P5B-E doesn't.

you all should take a look again around when more resellers carry this model. i highly doubt price will dip much below $160 if any. Blame asus for releasing the wrong info to the peeps at anandtech.

you're probably right about the price. Buy.com lists it at $173.99 shipped--and since they broker orders for drop shipment from distributors like Ingram Micro, they usually don't play the kind of pricing games some of these specialty resellers do.

Then again, on a more hopeful note, a reseller I don't know, GCAN Services, lists it for $151.30, plus shipping.

Anyone know if the board will work fine with a 7950 GX2? Hope the price gouging stops at some point...

Asus's MSRP is below $150, any differences you see are due to supply and demand economics.

i still suggest a "wait and see" approach regardless of what the ppl at asus said. the cost of the board to reseller's already $140+. i myself made the mistake by thinking the p5b-e was a lower end model than the p5b non-dx and therefore assumed the $130 pricetag. unless huge price cuts are coming, you won't see this board sell for below $150 shipped if that.

the p5b-e has the new c2 revision and will overclock higher than the current p5b deluxe because of looser timings. somebody has got it to 602fsb but with 6-6-6-24 timings. so performance be lower on memory. they will be the c2 revision on the p5bd later on.

There is no difference in overclocking with a C1 P5B-E (what you will receive for the next month or so) and a C2 P5B-E. This is pure urban myth about the C1 versus C2 overclock situation. The new board and bios designs using the C2 chips are what make the difference. The 602FSB was on a C2 P5B-Deluxe (new motherboard update and tuned bios) but a C1 on the same board also did 600FSB. The P5B-E will get you to 500FSB at this time or a little higher no matter if it is C1 or C2, the new P5B-E SE will get you around 550 stable due to voltage increases in the bios on the MCH and VDIMM settings.

Man, I thought I understood the C1 vs C2 differences, but now I'm hopelessly befuddled again. I'll hang on for the AT 965 recap before I spend any money

FWIW, the P5B-E has been on sale here in Taiwan for a week or two, I think I saw it going for US$150-155, but that's a shaky recollection.

Does the 102g board still do the reboot thing at startup?
If so, can this failsafe be disabled or is a glitch?
